thanks firegirl, now let me tell you something

I'm clearly more objective than you are and I can chose my own friends. I'm much more interesting because peer politics does not sway my judgement.

and I DONT suck up to anyone

whoa!!! I'm not begging him to come back.

Let's not presume that he hasn't returned because he feels humiliated or defeated or even trapped by the very rules he set up (i.e. This thread is CLOSED). Who knows, maybe he got a sweet gig and is performing so often that he doesn't have the time or opportunity to chatter away in cyberspace.

If he wants to post and join in, great, fine. This is an open forum, after all. I won't attempt to slam the door in his face or immediately lash out and I think it's unlikely that anyone else will. It's not like he hasn't pissed off peolple before and that never stopped him from coming back. (although I think he really topped himself this time).

I did notice that he was logged in not to long ago, so he's not gone completely. (Jester, if you want to lurk undetected either log out or reset your profile settings).

YOUR OBJECTIVITY (or, lack there of) HAS LITTLE TO DO WITH IT...

          example 1:

          look,
i'm not trying to inflame your sense of dignity, kid. however, in some of your writing you seem as if you have the capacity to be sharp, intelligent and funny... then in other examples (like the ones above) you seem infantile and really desperate for attention... as if you have the same fixation on jester that jester has on martin... or, you need everyone to like you.

          example 3:

i never stated that i "liked" you... i actually said something quite nasty to you. that you remind me of a bad fungus... truthfully - i don't feel one way or another about you... you amuse me to some extent... but, i don't know you - so i do not have the information avaiable to me to decide if i "like" you or not...

i should remember that you are very young.

i offered you my honest OBJECTIVE opinion - and, you got defensive in return. i was not trying to tell you who to be friends with, magrat - i was making an observation.

          now i'm late.

Etienne - in Britain, we regard lurking anonymously as very impolite and a sign of ill intent. Jester would keep himself visible no matter what, as I would and as everybody else does.

Firegirl - You are older than I am. You are condescending. You use far too many words for somebody trying to bluff self assurance.

It was a joke. In Britain, you're supposed to understand a wry sense of humour.

Lurking anonymously=ill intent in Britain. Then how do you explain speed cameras and the fact that London is the most heavily surveilled city in the world? It is for our own protection, isn't it?

Big Brother is one of the most successful TV shows, chez toi, and spying on your neighbors would seem to be the national passtime.

Yeah, well we get pissed off with all this spying on us, which is why the good guys stay out in the open so people don't need to fear them. Besides Jester is one of the people and I suspect that he loves being on any camera he can get his mug in front of. He probably thinks he's a TV star every time he pulls a funny face at CCTV.....he actually sometimes appears on those cheap TV programmes made up of CCTV footage

                    AND, YOUR POINT WOULD BE?

                    you're right.

                    i'm older and condecending...

i'm also patronizing, cynical, slightly bitter... there are also times when i'm either overly emotional or serious... i wear my heart on my sleeve... if you know how, i am easily hurt... i'm optimistic and always see the good in everyone and i am frequently disappointed because of this... sometimes i hide behind my sexuality because it's easier than having to deal with people in a real manner... i have many defense mechanisms - sarcasm being one of them... but, i am pretty much always sarcastic, so people often don't know when i'm just being sarcastic for the sake of being sarcastic and when i'm being sarcastic as a means of masking how i'm really feeling. sometimes i don't even know that.

i'm vein. (yes, i think this song is about me.) i could stare at myself in the mirror for hours. and, when i'm having a conversation with someone - if there is a reflective surface behind them - i will look at myself talking to them instead of looking at them while i'm talking to them...

the thing about being older, magrat - you know, recognize and (hopefully) are pretty comfortable with your flaws and foibles. i feel little need to defend who i am and how i am to anyone. i know who i am and there is no "bluffing" going on.

but, i'm usually on point and more often than not correct in my summations of motives and personality oddities.

you are defensive and very much in need of the approval of others.

me? i don't give a fuck if you like, agree with or approve of what i'm saying or who i am. i'm still going to say it. i'm not going to change to suit what you (that's a "proverbial" you - not a "literal" you) would like me to be. and, frankly, there are a lot of people who love me just for that fact alone.

finally - i use a lot of words because i'm enamored with hearing myself talk.

i hope that someday you can apply that sort of critical eye to yourself.

                    peace,
                    k

...Oprah wil be here any minute now. Remember once she's here, not one mention of the F word. As a matter of fact, she's been a bit moody lately, leave out the b word, too.

                          a. i don't breath fire.

                          b. no, i can't.

                          and, finally

                          c. your petty insults only reinforce my previously stated opinions of you.

i remind you of jester? how? as someone who you are desperate to have the approval of?

                          PATS MAGRAT ON THE HEAD
