Hey gav, speaking of Eastern European films, I watched "Underground" about a year ago, and found a new favorite director, I'm still trying to track down the guys other stuff, but for all: "Underground" is required viewing.

      the guy is a legend
The first one i saw was 'black cat white cat' fantastic film that gives great insight to the crazy life of gypsies.
You can see him acting in "The good thief" he's the security tech specialist guy.
It's not a very good film though because he didn't direct it.
There's a complete list here, even one starring johnny depp which I have yet to see.

      Search watch and enjoy

I watched 'Mean Girls' last night, thats rated a 12, I thought it was great, really funny, Lindsay Lohan was fab, but one thing that was scary was the 'meanest' girl, Regina, looked like a young Jeri Ryan, I hate Jeri Ryan, but if Regina had her hair cut short, they could be sisters....

Lord of the Rings is not crap. Allright, it got a bit repetitive listening to Sam saying "Master Frodo" everytime Master Frodo deviated from the precarious and lethal path. And the fact that tens of thousands of ordinary people died while all but one of the main players survived is a little bit suspect...

However, the "Gandalfs" who appear at parties and expect us to be impressed by their pseudo mystical powers and their ability to recite every LTR character in alphabetical order or in order of age or in any order you so desire... They are Crap.

              Bully

Just saw the movie Bully with Brad Renfro and Nich Stahl. Its a really good movie, pretty intense, lots of nakedness. Ordered it from Amazon cause i couldnt find it else where, but I am glad I did, its really good.
Magrat, Mean Girls is a funny movie...yeah its good. There are some really funyn parts, but I only like it cuz Tina Fay is HOT.

                    open water

yeah, that one blew. I could wait for them to just get eaten.

Just saw again a movie that I say YEARRSS ago that was good then and better now: the Daytrippers.

Black Cat White Cat, & Underground-- both fantastic. Saw them both in Paris ages ago.

Good documentary: the Fog of War.

Really horrible films that I endured on the Crew TV channel when out at sea:

                    resident evil
                    the hulk
                    the simple life (tv)
                    freaky friday
lilo & stitch (man does this one blow)
                    sharks tale
                    harry potter III (SOooo overrated)
                    chronicles of riddick
                    king arthur
                    bambi

Harry Potter three was enourmously over-rated. It is only possible to understate just how over rated Harry Potter 3 was.
It Sucked. I wanted my money back. It was an everyday ordinary committee driven sequel. You would not beleive that it was based on a book in it's own right, Thats how bad it was.

The story telling ability of the new director was absolutely abysmal. Sure it had some darker moments, but it was sooooo tedious and completely missed the fucking point of the whole story. What a Wanker!

Lilo and Stitch was okay but disappointing given the hype, I really expected more.

Open Water I liked. I was compelled but then I didn't know how it was gonna end.

                        useful tip

it's very important to remember that when you mention that you've seen a good movie, you should always say ' yeah, I saw that in Paris simply ages ago' The chicks are really impressed by that kind of stuff.

                        I'm 1 step closer.

Maybe this will help the 'snob value'...

They were called "Chat Noir Chat Blanc" and "Underground (sous terrain)."

Underground has a GREAT soundtrack, and for two years after the film came out every juggler used the music for their routines instead of "Swing Kids."

                            goran bregovic

That's the composers name, and he has a house just up the road from me in Zagreb.(how was that)
I actually use 1 of the tracks on my promo video, gives it a nice european feeling. Never used it in the show though. Amon Tobin is my juggle musician of choice.
How am I doing at fitting in here? I think I'm finally getting the hang of it.

I saw "The Borrowers" in Germany ages ago. That doesn't impress the chicks.

                              Why Not? Vas ist das!
