    a matrimonial occurrence

Yes Jim, and others. I got married.
    To a woman
    with all her faculties.
It helps that she's got some psyche training under her belt. Has the stamina and patience required to withstand my aberrant exhasting personality and is a creative writing teacher for gifted and special needs students. ( I fluctuate from one category to the other.)
She is also a trained dietitian and a mean psychoanalyst. (maybe not mean exactly).
She’s also got that New England thing where every day is spent as if nuclear winter starts tomorrow.
We had a romantic courtship, I sterilized myself so she wouldn’t inadvertently have to bear my corroded dysfunctional spawn and I chopped a lot of wood. (the nuclear winter thing..I humour her)
She did a lot of cooking and sexually taught me there was more to it than raping my mouth with the end of a beer bottle until it was empty. (who knew!)
It was a small ceremony, just us, the mormon tabernacle choir, The state wrestling team and a guy who came to get the coins out of the phone booth.
We are having a LARGE party on the weekend of OCT 10 (columbus weekend) held on a farm next to a river with pig on a spit and accomodation for all.
I am in the process of getting as much work this coming season as possible so that I can bribe people to come and intend to spend it all on this particular event.
You are all invited, yes everyone as theres nobody here I couldn't party with, but you know jester, if your going to moralise annd monopolise I really can't vouch for your safty. and ideally we will have some midnight madness show that attains legendary status and ruins my name in the community forever.

Well done Martin! All that and a green card too! (Just kidding...)

Cybele had told me that you were in a long term relationship, and that matrimony was a possibility, but not a fact. Now the deed is done and (I believe) that the world is better off for it. Like a commitment of faith, a commitment of love is something that can be liberating and inspirational. Best of luck to you and yours.

P.S. Are there any pictures of the wedding? Wife? Kids?

Glad to hear it, Martin. I know you two have been together for a while, but I had no idea there was a wedding planned. Congratulations, and yes, we need pics!

I'll put Oct10 on my calendar. Sounds like it's going to be a bender!

      Jim

        Congratulations Martin
Hope it all goes well, if I'm in town ( which is unlikely as I've never been to the states) I would love to come and check out your missus

Wow Martin, congratulations, and may I at least attempt to be the very first to say "You !@#?in' SUCKER!" The pain of you own enlarged cerebellum wasn't enough? You wanted to augment it with an external source of torture too, huh? Heh, I'll be there if I can, bearing a large gift box full of boxknives, firearms, and historically accurate Spanish Inquisition torture devices to help ensure a long lasting, heartfelt relationship brimming with love, honesty, generosity, and near-death experiences.

              I had no idea

Cybele, on the other hand, said nothing to me. (Not that she had any reason to; it's just a feeble attempt on my part to create misdirection).

Congrats! I hope marriage will make you happy in a way that will not stop you from being miserable--p.net wouldn't be as much fun if you weren't miserable.

Congratulations again Martin. And thank you for inviting even me to the party in October.

I swear, If I could come, I would be on my best behaviour. Alas I doubt I shall be able to make it, but I am really delighted for you and I'm sure you will have the best party imaginable.

This isn't all just a ruse to get me to go to some country house by a river in the middle of nowhere is it?

Have a wonderful and happy marraige, but don't ever stop kicking my arse.
