What's the permit and rules situation ?
I only ask because every couple of years I head back to Brisbane to visit my family, and unfortunately for the people of Brisbane, I'm never able to obtain a permit because of the timing of auditions.
I worked surfers during the late 80's early 90's a little, but it got a little ruined by overly aggressive performers and the 'incident'.
Good to here it's a nice place to work again.
Hopefully you guys can keep it that way.Leave a comment:

Ive only been working there since early Dec, and it was great up till Australia day. Ive taken a few nights off since - but i've heard its settled back down.
I think its my favourite pitch here in OZ, apparently though, the SPA wants to shut down the circle pitch....
<edit>looks like its happening..... the SPA is having a walk through on Tuesday, to try and identify "other" spots to work..... if any ones ever worked Surfers, you'll know, there is no where else to work. Im going to go see if I can convince them otherwise.</edit>
from what ive heard, its cleaned up a lot. I never saw it till I started working it, and to be honest its seems dare i say it, kinda classy.
great crowds, small hats, a better than average chance of drunks, oh yeah, and the 200ppl+ pub crawls that walk up and down the mall every so often.
but like I said, probably my favourite pitch in OZ, gotta love the night shows.... no more sunburn.

Most interesting thing Ive read in a long time, thx or the link!
I just posted this on facebook, but it's really fascinating, stray dogs in moscow. They've adapted to the city, developed wolf-like traits, and a small sub group, called metrodogs, lives in the metro stations and intelligently ride the trains http://www.ft.com/cms/s/2/628a8500-f...44feab49a.htmlLeave a comment:

That dog story was fascinating.
Check out the winner of Ukraines got talent.
Amazing and moving stuff. She uses sand on a light table to 'draw' the story of war in Ukraine.
