I'm currently involved in a huge fashion/comedy/entertainment show. In it is a group of 8 fully grown men dresing up in Charleston dresses and doing the Charleston. I watched them reaherse today and nearly wet my pants! All of them hamming it up and being goofs. I loved it!
I mentioned this funny scene to a someone today and she had this to say "It's great to see what people will do when you give them a license to be an idiot." True and to the point. My rant is why can't we be like this all the time? I love to "act like an idiot" if you want to phrase it like that. It's a sense of pure freedom to act how you want, say what you choose and dance however and wherever you like and have no fear of being judged based on your actions. When I let myself free like this though people cock one eyebrow and ask me what I've been sniffing, smoking or drinking? I realize that there's a time and place for most things but it's been my experience that when you "give someone a license to be an idiot" thier beauty really does shine through and 8 out of 10 people will join in.
Unfortunately most people I know here in my town don't see things the way I do. Perhaps that's why I'm back here for the time being---to either a) show those around me my rose coloured outlook on life or b)learn that not everybody can dance down the grocery aisle while singing Ain't Misbehavin' with a can of Spam in their hand!! (and wearing a feather boa!)HA ha ha that's funny !!!

I think I"m going to make up little laminated licenses that say "You are legally allowed to act like an idiot!" Tee hee hee.

My landlord is acting like September 11th never happened.Doesn't he know that the days of worry-free cash cow landlordism are over? The landlords have to tighten their belts for the good of the nation, and be more flexible regarding rent payments and such, because hey...THE AGE OF ENTITLEMENT IS OVER, GUYS!!..didn't you hear?
The industry is moribund and as the "gate keepers" of housing they are failing miserably to saturate their market. There are still many thousands of potential clients would love to be housed, except they can't meet the landlord's rigid, out-dated and totalitarian requirements. It's time to cut the red tape, and take this commodity out of their conspicuously incompetent hands.

As I sit at home watching the pundits predict the results of the athletic abilities of over-paid pigskin pursuers (in other words Australian Football season has started again), I notice, in brief bulletins, that there has been a subtle shift in the Middle East conflict. Israel has laid siege to the "Church of Nativity", the oldest and most holy site in Christianity.
I've studied theololgy in a secular environment since I was 12 (36 years), I know the difference between Judaism and Zionism, the origins of the schisms between Judaism, Christianity, Islam and now Zionism. Buddhism and Hinduism have their own horrors with the believe that if you are born poor or in other way disadvantaged, you must have earned it in a different life, somehow you deserved it, etc.. They too, are fighting each other and their Islamic or Christian neighbours.
The problem is that I also have a Master's degree in Applied Science, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, specializing in the human endocrine system (which goes a long way toward explaining why I'd rather be a street artist) and so think of life as a complex, improbable accident of chemistry that rules out the existance of a "God".
What is it about religion?

Jonny Flash and all his pals denounce the apartheid-style tactics
of the Israeli government. We think Sharon isn't aware that his air power and army size are NOW inferior to that of the dozen or so arab states he's so intent to fuck over and liquidate, and he's eliminating all alternatives to either a nuclear war or the certain elimination of the entire state of Israel. What the king of the world Bush2 will do in the event of all-out war between these dozen states and Israel is open to debate, as currently all that's known is that he's happy to arm both sides to the teeth courtesy of Joe and Suzie Taxpayer. Arab solidarity is non existant.

Arafat is terrorist and a liar. He was offered 75% of what he demanded by Netanyahu under pressure from Clinton and walked away from the negotiating table saying "We want ALL or no deal." He denounces the suicide bombings in English and encourages them in Arabic. Fuck him.

Gaza is not an "occupied territory" but land won after a war that was declared by Palestine after the announcement of the formation of the state of Israel. They LOST.

Should the USA give New Mexico, Texas and California to Mexico? Should Alsace-Lorraine be given to Germany? I say NO to both. If you lose a war, well I'm sorry, but tough shit, you lost.

I have strong feelings here...

I don't agree entirely with Sharon and I think he is brutal and causing more problems rather that finding solutions. On the other hand, the Palestinians offer no solutions at all and have categorically refused every peace initiative. Arafat has too many ties to Hamas and other terrorist extremist groups and is powerless to compromise and build a future for his people. The most stiking evidence of this was when he walked out of the Camp David negotiations in '99 when half of Jerusalem was going to be handed to him.

I don't say that Israel is all right and perfect and all that; they are, however, the side I'm cheering for.

Sorry,Le Pire but I'm already too pissed about another world event to reply to your post on Israel.

Nation: Venezuela
Problem: Successful Coup completed against the democratically elected President Hugo Chavez.

Details: New US backed dictator from business elite of Venezuela has done the following in the last 24 hours:

1.Kidnapped the president and is holding him incommunicado at an army base.
2.Revoked the constitution.
3.Dissolved the parliament.
4.Undemocratically changed dozens of laws.
5.Re-privatized Venezuela's oil industry.

Reasons to love Chavez: He eliminated prohibitive school tuition fees which enabled all children to get educated.
During his term infant mortality fell from 21% to 17% and was still falling.
He worked for a society fit for humanity.
He wanted the vast oil wealth of venezuela to benefit her people, instead of just the powerful oil corporations.

Reasons US govt payed for and facilitated the coup:see above

Yeah, and why is it that you can't buy a piece of fruit anymore without a sticker on it? They've skewered the last bastion of package-free nurishment. Labelling and wrapping designer air will be next.

I don't know Jonny. Prompted by your letter here I spent some time today reading up on Mr Chavas. I think you could alot better for a choice of heros. Besides, from the looks of the most recent reports he has been reinstated a president. Must have been your emails to Caracas that did the trick. Keep up the good work!

Now maybe you could turn your attention to Cuba, Libya, Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, Syria, Lebanon, Malaysia, Jordan, Saudi Arabia...

Well, the elected government is back in power, the coup was an utter failure. This makes me happy. The coup plotters, however, have kidnapped Chavez and his whereabouts are unknown. This writer truly hopes he's not attending a meeting with Allende, Arbenz, and the rest of the presidents of "uppity" nations who have died at the hands of US assassins for the crime of nationalizing parts of their own economies. BBC has O.K. coverage of this event, CNN has mostly smoke and mirrors. Gramma International and the Drudge Report help to fill in the blanks.

Different rant that has nothing to do with anyone here in this moment.

I'm just fed up with performers with egos that think they are the SHIT and have to cause problems backstage. All that alpha-male crap. Save it for the audience, bitch, I just want to do a sound check!
