    The Letterman Show

    Yay!
Flyin' Bob will be balancing chairs on his face on Stupid Human Tricks on Monday Feb 26.

Bob's Lovely and Charming sent a video to them a long time ago as a birthday surprise and damned if they didn't call!

If they reschedule, (which sometimes happens) I'll repost

        Thanks Dan:

I'm hearing lots of buzz about your new CD Highway 63. CBC loves it. I've heard them talk about it a number of times.

        See you at the circus.

            Letterman followup

It's Monday Night and I'm in Manhattan now.
I went to the show reheasal at the Ed Sullivan Theatre this morning and found out only today that it was an audition for the show not a guarantee to be on. I auditioned with 5 other stupid humans, but only three were selected, I wasn't one of them. Arrrrrrrgh!!!!! They liked the bit though and said there would be a good chance to be on another time.
I was led to believe that I was guaranteed to be on but that wasn't the case when I arrived. It was still an amazing experience to audition though.
I got to balance my chairs on the the set of the show,
I go to meet Biff Henderson, who is like a god to me. And I got to sit in Dave's chair while my wife snapped pics. And I got a fairly good check to be there. Coulda been worse.

Disappointed but definitely still a Stupid Human,

            F'in' B

              Day:1

              New painting.
I don't think it's finished yet. I've only spent a day on it.
It's called Day:1 and, surprisingly, it's not about me.
Day one of recovery, for a friend.

I painted it over another painting that was called Day:39 (as in, 40 days in the desert or 40 days of flood waters rising). Almost broken, but close to the end...
This one is about coming out the other side. Grief and acceptance on the first day.
The old one was an image of an emaciated hermaphrodite, dry-heaving on the floor and I just couldn't find an appropriate place to hang it.
              Attached Files
Well, maybe I WILL just keep telling myself that.

                Way cool, Rachel.

                      I'm sorry, I didn't catch that.

Those ones are gorgeous. ...They make me feel like I could be eaten by them. The sphere is the body an the rocks are the teeth (which is extra scary with ones who's teeth are planted all the way through it's belly). Ever considered installing them at playgrounds? Letting children get entangled? Something in my WANTS to climb inside and take a nap.
Well, maybe I WILL just keep telling myself that.

and the award for most iMdb credits goes to ...

Mad Chad will be in the upcoming episode of Spiderman 3 ... he is seen several times about halfway through the film (although no close-up) ... he plays a bartender in a nightclub ... he was cast as a Principal and got paid as such but unfortunately his lines were axed from the final cut (which screened last night in LA). Don't feel sorry for the bastard though ... he still gets residuals from that Visa spot he did a coupla months ago.

I have a new video blog written by someone else. I'm practicing remembering lines and telling the world about a person I'm not really.

                              ~Cheeky Monkey TV~

For those of you in the Washington, DC area:

Cheeky Monkey Sideshow is going to be featured on WJLA's 11 o'clock News on Monday the 7th.

For those of you who haven't been to a Cheeky Monkey show, this is a chance for you to see what kind of inadvisable antics we're up to.

It's also a chance for everyone to see me, the King of Flop Sweats, make a daring attempt to combine words and sentences into concepts in the breath-taking Interview Portion with Entertainment reporter, Arch Campbell.

                                learning

In the quest to learn new skills, I have been working with Chinese acrobats on Chinese Pole. Someone snapped this photo of me as I was chatting with the instructor mid lesson. We have a funny relationship because he is going up for his citizenship test so while he shouts commands at me, I drill him with civics questions.

I really love working on the Chinese Pole and I call it "static trapeze for boys."

p.s. my form is TERRIBLE in the photo!
