I juggled at the Theater of Dionysis on the Acropolis ...well, OK it was just rocks and only for a couple of old Greek matrons but I gotta laugh when I tried to pass my hat ... how much is a drachma worth anyway?
Hype yourself blatantly here.

Hot Damn! Why do organizers have to schedule their Fests on the same date? It's either 4 on the same date and we can only do one of them, or 3 weeks in a row with nothing!
We've chosen to do the Satchmo Summer Fest because A/ it's right here in the French Quarter, B/ it's easy to tailor to their formula C/ it's most likely to generate the most publicity and D/ it'll probably be the most fun.Comment

Did my first all busking show last weekend at a small town festival where most people have probably never seen street performers. Everything went great from the crowd building to delivering the money lines throughout the show to actually asking for the money. My wife said it may have gone a little long but the audience filled my bag and I had a great time. That's all that matters. Off to Boulder tomorrow!Comment

A three minute segment on the afternoon Public Radio broadcast "All
Things Considered" featuring my glass music performance on the
street in New Orleans will be broadcast on Friday (8/1/03) on your friendly public radio station.
A note from the producer states:
"Peter,
The segment about you is scheduled to air this Friday on All Things Considered. The webpage with your picture should be up at about the same time... http://www.npr.org If I miss my deadline and fail to finish the piece by Friday, then I may be joining you on Jackson Square with an upturned hat."
The producers have been devoting a segment every Friday this summer
(it usualy comes on as the last piece in the first hour -- 4:45
here in Central time) to the eclectic nature of street performance
in America. The first one was on a trombonist in the subways (can
you imagine the echoes?) of New York. Another was on a wonderful
one-man-band bluegrass performer I've seen on Harvard Square in
Cambridge, MA.
Stay tuned, I've still got 12 minutes left in the fame bank
(although so far it doesn't pay much interest)!
