Nice article, and a great idea for a gig!

On your website, you might want to put something under Adult Parties how you
"don't do Adult Parties without the overalls" (unless of course you do, in which case, you need to advertise that like crazy)

One of the things that I really like about your act is how vulnerable you make yourself. Do you have Plan B eventualities? (Pepperspray, the pointy stick)

Anyhow, thanks for sharing! And please, everybody hype yourself more! And shamelessly! This is what this topic is ALL ABOUT!

Hi, and thanks! well .. I was thinking for a while about what it'd mean to do bachelor parties and such, but haven't ventured that way (yet) (ever?). Maybe instead of "without the overalls" i could do it "with only the overalls" (joking. pretty much)

And as for planB's.. a cop friend of mine just brought me a can of industrial-stregnth pepper spray the size of brazil to take with me on the road. But I've never actually felt threatened during a show before - people are overwhelmingly kind (or at the least, non-violent). It's funny, somehow in giving up all control i'm able to retain it when necessary (or regain it) with surprising ease. Well, thanks again.. Karen

I love the canvis clown thig thats great!! I was going to let the kids paint me while doing face painting at my last gig (babby and todler expo.) as some of the kids were scaird of th paint. Insted I painted my self during slow bits.

Cool bus stop, do you know how many stops have that poster? If I were you I'd find out and see if you can get one when they come down.

                    Etienne,

Well, if I'm going to traipse about from thread to thread, blessing the personal web sites of the P.Net membership, I might as well not skip yours...

I love the color scheme, the simple, yet integrated navigation, and the PICTURES! Oui bien!

But, you HAVE to have anti-aliased text!!! There are several images of words that you have as gifs that just won't do! Either save them in a format that will support the alpha channel (like png), include the background in the image, or use an html text object on the page.

Having aliased text on your web page is like only having an eight track tape player in your Porsche.

You seem to be aware of all of the text alignment and font problems, so I will only remind you of those.

Although I loved the photos, and they made me curious about you and your act, I was not given any more information other than you do things with bowling pins. And apparently, you do a LOT of things with bowling pins. (Yeah, OK, I know that they are juggling clubs, but that isn't so clear to everyone. Except for the shadow, I never actually see what those things are used for! )

I am not sure how much a prospective client should see of the actual act. Certainly, as performers we are given artistic license to portray ourselves as bigger than life, and go beyond a literal description of what we will actually do at the client's event. But, it might be the case that prospective clients are not given enough concrete information about what you do. Honestly, even as an insider, all I know is that you have a great look going, you do free standing ladder, and juggler four clubs.

Still, if all you do is fix the text alignment problems, I think you should be very proud of the site.

Steve (Who is now done poo-pooing web sites for awhile and will go back to simply monitoring the moral integrety of P.Net.)

                      HIGH! POKIE-POKE!

I think there is at least three bus stop posters with my mug on them. They will call me when they come down. I am supossed to get ALL
of them so I can autograph them for some future charity auction. They are quite large, probably 4' or 5' x 6' tall.

We have our 18' tall giant puppets at about six and counting festivals and art shows this summer. Can't wait to see what the TV and press do with them!

                      Walking tall, and stretching imaginations!

                          Etienne-

i went to your site and i dont think it works properly on my computer. In fact, I'm sure it doesn't. I don't know why but the text is behing some of the images and it overlaps in some places and the videos section has nothing happening. Also, your title page takes a long time to load on my computer so you might want a note to stay around while it does so. I have an imac with internet explorer 4.5. in case you needed to know.

                            What-- no hype lately?

I'll be heard on the radio fairly soon now-- WBUR (in Boston MA) has a public radio show called Here and Now http://www.here-now.org They came last month to a show and did some radio taping. I don't think its played yet, but when it does, you can be sure I'll hype it RIGHT HERE!

I also just booked a gig for the beginning of July where I'll be strolling at the Rhode Island Blood Center donation sites and making giving blood more fun. How, I'm not quite sure yet. We'll see when I get there.

Also, I'm working on a historic impersonation of P.T. Barnum, and a couple of other shows--- you can find out more about the barnum show at http://www.ptbarnum.org

Hope all is well, and come on people-- I want to hear some more HYPE! Give me some CHATTER!
