        Peter , see misinterpritation.
Its not sarcasm as the east timorese who are building their country anew after decades of oppression and a recent mass slaughter by indonesian backed forces (using weapons supplied by the US--because there was money in it) after democratically voting for independence and suffering the angry response and showing qualities like hope and perserverence and trust in non violent slow moving politics under severely violent conditions ,are not really suited to my particular brand of sarcasm.
I'm thinking more along the lines of hooking up with the NZ and Austrailian peacekeeping forces stationed there and putting something on for a day or two in whats left of their capital city .

Given that humour and freedom of expression is something the locals have earned I thought it would be a good thing to try and arrange and an adventure too. (I'm on an 18 day gig with little else to do)
It would only appeal to some of you granted and I'll not waste my time explaining lifes non fiscal qualities to the stubbornly monodimensional.
(this does not include Taxi who has been known to travel south of the border to help construct houses for the homeless in his spare time)

Robert I don't think there is much chance of life after death, so we might as well do it this time round. Is there life after chance?

OK, wasn't aware of the goings on over there. It would be a help to the people to see performers. Thanks for the info, Martin.

Wow, Peter turned full circle on this one. Some people really change their minds once they are better informed. Luckily I don't.

I've done shows for desperate comedy clubs who can't afford to pay me either.

The reason you do a show for no money is to put it on your resume. I'm sure you'ld also be able to pass out business cards to refugees and you'd get hooked up with some hot daughter of a scared man.

I hope you're not knocking democracy Martin, because in the blessed US, it's the only thing keeping a select few of us living high on the hog while the population is thinned in other parts of the world. Bad people can kill us but, we'll still be protected by the glowing sheild of Democracy.

You might want to cultivate your sense of activism there, junior.

Oh to be young enough to believe the first thing you think of will automatically be interesting to others.
                          It'll pass.
just a wee correction, they're not refugees as they own the country and as for not knocking democracy on the contrary I sort of feel sorry for the concept after the vicious beating you guys gave it last elections. Your right about hiding behind platitudes while sodimizing the planet though. "Don't go changing" and "Missing you already."

                              Martin,
I don't appreciate your flames. That post wasn't the first thing that came to mind, I had an outline that I can send to you.

You said that we gave the concept of democracy a beating in last elections? Well, I'd rather be beaten than dead. Don't think you can be whitier than me. Plus, we have a president now that knows how to deal with problems.

Also, your cynicism and pestomism are short sited and no one will like you if you keep up that line of thinking. Some day your cynematic thoughts will put you in a position where you don't trust in humanity any more when you need them the most.

You might be older than me, but you obviously have a different point of view that is very sheltered and uncultured. Because, the posts I've read are attackful and not nice. So lay off jerk.
