    The character you play off-stage

So who are you when you arrive -- someone between your "home' self and your "on-stage wild crazy funny guy"?

You should be in character from the moment you arive at the event and you should not loose your character till you are in your car on your way home. As when I am not street performing I am an actor with many local theatres in seattle, this point is especialy important to me.

Normally I pretend to be robert nelson before I go on. I even manage to convince people that the leopard spots on my head are actually butterflys

            consistancy

I avoid all of this by not having any character.

that seems stupid, not to have any character! Even if you are your self with more energy, then that is a character. The energy you have when you are a character is crucial. That is what theatre is about! The share of energy between you and the audience. I just don't think that will happen as much if you put on no effort to get into character.

                            character

...what I'm getting at is that the person I am at home is diffrent from my business persona which is diffrent from my on-stage characters.

A related question -- assuming you are wacky on stage, does that carry over into your day to day life? Are you mr. wacky fun guy everyday?

                            Dave
