George lived on the Venice Canals about a block and a half from where I lived for 14 years in LA.

I'd see him quite a lot when he was in town, taking his stupid little dog out for a piss each morning on his way to eat breakfast at a little cafe' on Washington Blvd. that roasted coffee. He was seemingly oblivious of how great he was.

I've never been starstruck in my life. I've met a few celebrities in my day but I never really cared. I met Dolly Parton once in Nashville but she turned out to be just a cunt with nice tits. To me, all celebrities were just a bunch of famous cocksuckers.

However, this was George Carlin!!! The God of Comedy!! I'd carry little scraps of paper with stuff he'd written on them or else one of his many books and walk the canals thinking to ask for his autograph if I ever saw him.

But I never did ... I never said shit to that motherfucker.
