    Barrie Sloan - Edwin B. Yelding

    Stilt Performer extrordinair Edwin B. Yelding, aka,
    Barrie Sloan passed away this past Monday night,
    March 19th, 2007

    Master of stilt performing on tall stilts. As can be seen in these photos, Barrie was very accomplished on stilts, performing regularity with out a balance pole pole or umbrella, or any safety rigging. He performed boldly at Extraordinary heights, in and out of doors, subject to wind, slick, rough or unsteady surfaces, children and animals.

    Residence: Sarasota, formerly of DeBary, Great Yarmouth, England.

    Survivors: His wife, Sheila; a son, King; and two grandchildren.

    Also survived by daughter-in-law, Luanne; and grandchildren Chyna and Bailey.

    The service will be on April 1st at Showfolks of Sarasota..

Following in the footsteps of generations of circus performers, Barrie has performed around the globe as a WORLD CHAMPION STILTWALKER. He came to the United States in 1962, residing in Florida and called Sarasota home.

    > From performing in 1996, but continued his art of designing and
    > creating parade heads and circus parade floats for his life long
    > friend John Pugh, Owner of the Cole Brothers Circus.
    > Barrie will be dearly missed by many and is survived by,

    I knew the Sloans when I was on the Beatty show in 87-88.
    Nice folks.
