Marge Kirby: what a difference one person can make

Without Marge writing in, I’d never have left
The job they all wanted for me
A chemist, a doctor, there was quite a list
Not one I wanted to be

When Opryland wrote with a place and a time
A request from the letter she sent
It gave me my shot to be what I’m not
So off to audition I went

I jumped at that chance and never looked back
    While searching for something unseen
But we’d write or I’d call and we somehow stayed close
Over time and the miles in between

Thirty years of laughter, I owe all to her
For the path she allowed me to take
And the wisdom she shared with me on the way
What a difference one person can make
