NPR Says Bagpipes OK in Vancouver

After banning busking bagpipers (say THAT 3 times quickly...) the city of Vancouver has reversed its stand. Here's a transcript from Friday's "All Things Considered" on NPR:

A ban on buskers playing bagpipes in a Canadian city has been lifted after an international outcry and anger among the world's top pipers.

It's the first time I've heard any American news program refer to busking, by the way...

David -- Several years ago NPR sent a reporter from Austin to shadow me for an entire day at my pitch on Jackson Square in New Orleans. He edited all of that tape down to a five-minute piece that absolutely captured the essence of my show. That interview is still archived on the NPR website.

I forget the man's name, but he did a segment on performance art which we were doing in west Oakland. He captured my button accordion music and did a very good piece with it. The guy travels the country doing these various bits. I'm not sure if it's the same reporter you had, though.
