Hey Nickyboy... I just got on that Facebook thing and haven't even figured it out yet (I'm old) but since I have nothing to lose (career wise) and it has pretty pictures... I'm sold... But then again, it makes me realize I've got nothing much to say.

Have been on Linked In for a couple of years. It's primarily designed to be the way that executives reach other executives...as far as I can see.

        No work yet.

I suspect that if you worked the "networking" that you would get results. I haven't thus far. So....

I only accept potential hub type people on it, people who have achieved stuff I'd like part of. No hungry guppies.
Never got any work from it directly but I have some good minds to bounce stuff off. I currently use it in passive mode. I get the email updates and get to see who has connected to who. If that starts to look interesting I'd make a move.

But it never has and I never have.

It's an entry level success tool. There's an iphone app for it that pretty interesting, searches for peoples details to find matches with yours while you're mingling.

I'm on LinkedIn (free version). Some of my clients are also. I don't have the time to really work it, but use it to add to my mailing list. Friend of mine sells clown shoes from her Facebook page with fair success. I haven't even figured out how to make a fan page! Being a Luddite has its drawbacks!
