    New Season Jitters

So it's time to drag the street show out again for a fun new year... I'm in Courtney B.C. where it is... small. It's freaking me out. I haven't done this in a while and I've got the jitters again. It's fun, however watching the thin crowds drift down mainstreet is making me worried about whether or not I can feasibly make money here.

I guess we'll see. I just need to quit assuming that I'm going to fail and do the damn show. It's like doing the first show over again. I felt good and confident right up to this point where suddenly the fact that I'm actually going to be doing the show again has become a reality.

    Wish me luck!

Push through it. PUSH!!! PUNCH! KICK! Just get 'er done.
I've grown some serious anxiety over comedy lately and the longer I wait the worse it gets and the more I know I'll suck when I try.
Let my nerve-rattled body serve as an example to ye.
Well, maybe I WILL just keep telling myself that.

      Huh...

So foot traffic was miserable yesterday and I was unable to gather a crowd.

Today I've woken up with a really sore throat, which sort of kills things as I'm unamplified so I have to yell at people for a good half hour. Also it's raining.

Maybe I'll get another shot later today.

How 'bout a shot of whiskey for the throat?

The rain hasn't really let up. As such I took a nap and read. It's been fabulous.

          So. Another day then.

            You can do it!

I was actually going to make a very similar post today.. I'm premiering a new act (an actual show not a statue act) this year and I'm TOTALLY FREAKED about going out there. I spent all day procrastinating and making excuses, and I don't know why! But, if I can do it, you can do it!!

Also: if you don't go out, don't beat yourself up for it. Y'need a break once in a while, too.

So, following a spat of bad weather I managed to get down to Granville Island in B.C. and do a couple shows during the two days there isn't rain in this province.

I think that it's safe to say that I bombed miserably. Although talking to the local performers apparently there isn't much to be made around here so I guess it's only half me. Still, it was a learning experience and a lot of fun, and people really seemed to enjoy the show so all's well that ends well.
