    The bigger the gig...

The harder you fall. I can't believe my luck today. So I got a bit with West Edmonton Mall doing walk around stuff on stilts and rolling globe for a Mardi Gras party they were having. It was great while I was up and I feel it was some of the best stilt walking I'd ever done. There are just two things that annoy me.

I don't look my age, which is frustrating when you're not that old to begin with. It's hard to get people to take me seriously and I have to fight to do just that. And what's less professional than showing up fifteen minutes late? Thanks to that delay I didn't even get up on the stilts and out until a half hour after I was supposed to. Annoying as all hell.

And what's less professional? Making excuses. I can't do that, I just need to apologize for it and throw everything into my performance. It seems like I'd be trying to make futile excuses to explain that I had the slowest god damned taxi driver on the face of the earth.

I just hope my insane monkey dancing was enough to make them forget how displeased they were with my tardy arrival.

What bothers me is that I was ready. I was all packed last night, ready to go, and in the last hour everything got buggered up. What bothers me more is that I did a promotion for this event as well where I was also late getting up even though I'd been a half hour early for the event because the representative from the mall didn't bother showing up when she said she would.

But I can't make excuses. Oh no. As far as they're concerned I was late both times, tsk tsk.

Oh yeah, and I broke a stilt, just to top it all off.
