    Busted Busker

    received from Jeep:

Popular Key West entertainer jailed on pot-distribution charge

Longtime Mallory Square entertainer Will Soto, legendary for high-wire acts at the Key West waterfront, was jailed Thursday on a felony charge of distributing marijuana.
Soto, 61, known for juggling flaming torches while atop his wire with Key West Harbor and the sunset as his backdrop, was booked into the Monroe County Detention Center just after 4 p.m. Bond was set at $5,000.
According to an arrest warrant signed April 1 by Circuit Court Judge Wayne Miller, agents with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Broward Sheriff’s Office searched Soto’s Harriet Avenue house with his consent on Sept. 26, 2006, and found 97 grams, or 3.5 ounces, of marijuana. They also reportedly found cocaine in Soto’s son’s bedroom, four bongs and numerous “ash trays containing buds from the marijuana cigarettes.”

I always thought those high-wire types made more money than they knew what to do with.
