    Hey Jeep r u there?

Jeep, I need to get Andy the pier manager's cell number so that I can use him and Sunset Celebration for a reference. I'm sure he won't mind, but you could ask him first if you need to. I sure would appreciate it.

    How's life down there? Hehehe......as if I didn't know!

    Thanks!

            before and...

I stay out of there before and after work. Never play in the villiage while in costume. That's some BAD mojo there!

                LA beckons Mallory Sq.

                Hey Jeep,
Butterfly Man here ... or maybe you know me as just 'butt-head' ... I just saw your footage in Chad Taylor's film "Buskers" and I just wanted to say ... it's great. The closeup shot into your eyes made me see the truth in who you are ... you are truly a "busker" in the purest sense of the word. Congrats on being a star in that film and in real life.
                your friend,
                Robert

P.S. My best to Will Soto too ... his footage is (like him) really cool too.

                  Thanks

The name Chad Taylor sounds familiar but I can't place him. What does he do and where does he work?I don't know of the movie , what's it about and what am I doing in it and what city am I performing in? That's mighty nice of you to say that about me. I've worked very hard ,like the rest of us, to do what we do, and it ain't easy as you know. If I had your talent I'd be great! Thanks again B man.

Gee, I hope that Chad was smart enough to get performers permission/release form to use them in his film and in promotionals of any kind, otherwise there could be some problems ahead.

please release me ... let me go

                      Jeep et al,

Chad Taylor was just a young local Venice Beach street act when I moved from San Francisco to LA … he did chainsaws (3) and made a bit of a name for himself that way … unlike Robert Gruenburg, who is perhaps best known for being the Venice Beach chainsaw (1) juggler, Chad was a genuinely nice person. He also was very professional and developed a great show over the years …you can check him out at madchadtaylor.com. I consider him a good friend.

The footage for his film “Buskers” was done way back in ’98 and ’99 as I recall, and yes, most definitely he has releases from everyone. I remember helping him sort them years ago (Gazzo’s was, like himself, quite illegible).

I did help Chad out with telling him where to go and who to see but I have nothing to do with the making of this masterpiece (yes, upon reflection, I do think it’s that good).

The footage captures, in my opinion, what we, as buskers, are all about … and just because of it’s subject matter it captures a piece of busker history too … many of the performers in the film are already (or almost) dead.

Still, it’s worth 1 hour and 3 seconds of your time …

I consider Jeep to be one of my good friends, and yes, he is very dedicated to this art that we all love. He has a story about almost every place on earth that one could perform at. I'm glad he was included in the film. I look forward to seeing it myself.
