I once saw a great statue act that was an act.
This person did a scene from a play. They would stand still until someone would give money and depending on how much money was presented by one person or multiple people they would then take the story to the next point. it was all done silently with mime and movement and it was really great. The crowd was captured and it was a big show and not a quick stop, look and keep on walking.

If I remember correctly there was another hat pass at the end of the whole performance.

Another great act I saw was a flower that bloomed (papermache or something, I dunno) and had a person inside and it was a kind of music box type approach
I do not know the logistics of it all and how it worked, but again it was a fun thing to see.

statue viva are great to work with and they have great audience participation with their act.

As far as creativity, the construction worker in NOLA or the guy with the little dog on the leash in NOLA.

There was also this guy from Hungary that used to perform at the Tampa Ren Faire. On his days off he'd come to Pier 60. He was also a proffessional human manequin, he'd be hired by big stores to do store fronts. I can't remember his name, but when he'd get tipped he contort into the poses and them hold them forever until the next tip. NO SUNGLASSES!!! Seemed to never blink!!
