    best staue act you've seen

I'll start it off by saying it was some guy who was passing through Perth once, he had a basic Roman toga type look. Gathered a huge crowd just getting ready. Was good at being still and even better at surprising people with occasional funny actions.
    Martin might remember him.

A drunk guy in Munich during Oktoberfest 1998. Swaying to and fro on a milk crate, with a paper bag over his head. He'd poked holes where he thought his eyes might possibly have been, but were not.

      statue

Tomas from Germany. I saw him in New York in '84 in central park. He and his girl drew hugh crowds just putting there make

up on. I saw him again in Key West in the '90's hugh crowds again.

A guy from Spain who sits in a fridge and looks really cold. He has to get a new fridge everywhere he travels to.

                    on the subject

interesting for the fact that very few of them are actually standing still and trying to be statues.

If anyones wondering, I'm not thinking of doing it myself but I did just make a statue of liberty costume for a marketing agency and hope to convince someone to take it out on the streets.

I personally believe it's not so much the costume but the interaction that makes a good statue act. Judging by your responses I'm thinking that's the general opinion of performers also.

                        Hello,

I have only seen four different people here doing statue. The young white painted lady who works the mall gains my second place,
The green Will Rogers in bricktown gains first. the other two is a dryad and Pan at medieval faire. Though they all do a good job, I would love to see Pan try to walk >.<

My favorite living staues were in the French Quarter in New Orleans, circa January 2005. The two best ones: a young man done up as a vampire who would do a little bow when tipped, and a zombie bride who would hiss and claw at those who were brave enough to tip.

At one point a spectator draped a string of Mardi Gras beads around the vampire's neck and placed another string of beads on his hand and he did not flinch. Very cool. Very creepy.

No particular favorite, but when I was in Barcelona on Las Rambas the whole street was lined with statues. Some good some terrible.... but there had to have been one every 10 feet for about 10 blocks.
