Just saw a short clip of charlie barnett on youtube! Very cool, because I had never seen him live. He did a bit about purses and racism, which I have been working on a angle for...It was nice to see his take on it.

Yeah I was glad to see more of one of the great masters of stand up comedy on the street. Like Rex said not the best quality of audio or video but for those circle acts who really want to do propless comedy charlie was the master! Thanks for sharing this classic street show!

He's so natural and great. I've seen tons of acts doing crap on the street that just makes them look crazy and I couldn't understand where they got the idea that that was good. Charlie started it and doesn't look crazy because it's organic and applicable to his personality. He should have gotten the fame that chapelle got.

WOW! Nice footage that brought back some serious memories.
You know what's funny at one point in the video Charlie said what's up to a couple of guys who came in the circle with a Boom box those were to guys from my old crew when we worked in the park back in those days.
Charlie was the King of Whashington square and inspired alot of people working the circuit today including myself...
