I don't know who you're all talking (or not talking) about, but I, for one, had a very full weekend.
Funeral, wedding, birthday and national holiday.
I spent today truckin' it for 9 hours, back from Lake Superior, on the Trans Canada.
(truckin' it in the passenger's seat. much more fun.)
THAT is a real Canadian Canada Day.
It aint Canada Day if you're not stopping at the Tim Horton's in Perry Sound to take a whiz, while listening to Gordon Lightfoot and getting a sun burn on the side that's sticking out the car window.
It aint Canada Day if you haven't been in at least one store called "Trading Post", or if you haven't passed at least 10 businesses with the word "Northland", "North", or "Northern" in it.
I can't wait until the next time I make that nostalgic trip so I can personally kick down each and every tourist built inukshuk along the rock blasted highway.
It was a good day. That ride up up north is like home. It's why I love highways.

Etienne was just starting to relax and celebrate the day while Rachel was yet to awake to it.
So many birds and only one stone.

Thank you Peter, I just saw this and noticed it was posted on my birthday. Unfortunatly according to the U.S. government I am now oild enough to retire, but according to the real world I am still busking ans working in restaurants to provide me with the luxuries of life, rent and food.

But it has been a great life so far and I'm not going to change it.
