I spent last weekend vacationing in Boston with my wife & kids. We saw some very entertaining buskers at Faneuil Hall, I bought some very cool bootleg cds at Planet Records on Harvard Square, we ate clam chowdah every day, and then, on Sunday afternoon when we thought we had seen it all...
we found Oliver Dodd the magician with his small but appreciative audience near the Swan Boat Rides on Boston Common.
Oliver is about the same age as Harry Potter, and some day he may be as famous. He had a short card table with a few cups & balls, a wand no bigger than a pencil, and just enough pluck & charm to keep everyone's attention. Oliver does not have a website yet, but he did give me his business card which says OLIVER'S MAGIC with his phone & e-mail.
I handed $5 to my son & daughter, and told them to put it in Oliver's hat. I told Oliver to visit performers.net and wished him well. It was one of the best moments of our vacation.
