The Greatest Problem in the World

If you had to identify one problem as the core underlying problem preventing or hindering progress in the world.

        Credulity and stupidity.

(I'll count that as one problem, since they so often go hand-in-hand)

Which is, of course, the very basis of the success of organised religion.

I'll second the organised religion vote.
I don't think it would be much better even if it was unorganised though.

Most people would really just be happy with enough.

I am a very spiritual person but my gods (sic) allow yours.

I'm no fan of organized religion, still pulling out the twin fangs of guilt and fear sunk into my psychic flesh at an early age by the Mary-Worshipers...but...my two least fav this morn are:

Nationalism. Rah Rah U.S.A (insert any other place w/a flag).

Profit Motive. And I don't mean a fair profit, I mean exorbitant, usurious attention to cash over people, the world, the future, etcetera, Mrs. Anna.

                    Lack is the biggest problem!

Lack of imagination, and lack of self discipline. lack of critical thinking skills, and lack of ambition.

There's more, but I have no lack of excuses for not continuing!

And if you don't believe me, just ask me, and I'll tell you so!

But Scot, if all of us, homogeneously, were the problem, then it wouldn't be a problem, it would be the norm.

but Stephon it would still be a problem for every life form in the world that is not included when we discuss "us"

Apathy – not just voter, but more so a lack of reaction to a problem; stemming from a lack of immediate, visceral evidence of an undeniable problem / transgression.
