Excuse me, but I NEVER said it was busking, I said
Stripping, pole/lap dancing ect is a form of entertainment

Upon further research... you are correct. In fact it was PABLO who said that stripping was a form of busking.

So I extend that same "prove me wrong" to Pablo-- Hey Pablo, make a demo video of you taking it all off with intent to arouse and submit it to all the buskers festivals...

I prefered your original idea. I'd rather see Pixie Jester do the street stripping thank you.

I would seriously prefer this thread to be moved into "Blah, blah, blah."
I mean no disrespect for Anna Nicole and am, in fact, sort of attracted to or in admiration of her uninhibited celebration of her bizarre celebrity.
But I do wish this discussion was not here.

              etienne, I accept your apology.

Jester, the 'prove me wrong' was extended, so the 'original idea' still includes me.

                Obituaries

There is an editorial tradition/principle in old fashioned newspapers and honorable publications that Obit columns are only for the reverent, those who love some-one they've lost.

Discussion on "Obits" are always restricted to the "Letters to Editor" section.

I don't believe in censorship but do believe in editorial discretion.

Pablo's acknowledgement of Anna Nicole Smith's death in our "Obits" thread is dubious but not totally unreasonable.

                The discussion surrounding it is.

Can the thread be moved here (Pls) where it can be discussed freely. Clearly Anna was a character worthy of some analysis, especially from a woman's perspective but if P.Net is to be considered a serious publication (which I believe it is) it needs to separate history from opinion.

Of the 33 "Obits" posted so far, sadly, 5 were people I counted as friends, seriously strong influences and inspirations. There is also an obit for Warren Zevon I wrote long ago, lost somewhere in the threads here, that has not been moved yet and I'm still struggling to write about Robin Wade who recently took his own life.

The Obits thread is about celebrating those that made a difference to us and our world.

Here in Blah, Blah, Blah is the place to debate them.

                  amazing

I have seen more posts on this topic than that of real discussions about performing. This is gossipy. The icons says it all.

My first thought was not to delete it, but to move it to Blah, Blah, Blah anyway. I think I'll go do that now.

Have you read the other threads?

The "curtain calls" thread is, in my mind, for those from within the world of street performing who we want to remember. Part of the value of the thread is the idea that we will someday be in it. I, for one, eagerly anticipate writing up Butterfly in this thread. ANS was never a member of our community. This thread belongs elsewhere.

gossipy? Much of this thread was the discussion of the impotance of the Curtain Calls area and how it defines our community. We also realized that the very debate of this was inappropriate to the area and that is why the thread was moved to its current location.

Far be it from me to ramble off topic, so here's this:

                            daily show on ANS

                            etienne

p.s. maybe I should have put that in a link a day...

While I have sympathy with the view that ANS was not a street performer I still think that Pablo is a member of this community and he should be permitted to remember somebody and share his thoughts on this forum.

I think it was rather crass, officious and up ones arse to carry on like we have been doing.

I say this in the most crass and officious up my arse tone of voice I can muster under the circumstances.

Some people on this thread have appointed themselves the P'net St Peter at the gates of P'net obituary heaven...

So what are you going to do if you die and you get to heaven and discover that ANS is there? Are you going to refuse to go in?

I'm hoping that she's waiting for me. There are worse ways to spend eternity.
