I like a good prank but you shouldn't piss off the police when you are a street performer. Believe me I know. I'm about to go to court for the incident where the police assaulted me 4 months ago.
My prayers are with you Mike (Michael Patrick)

wow
Michael, I know at some point you are gonna read this thread. I can only hope that by then, you will realize how many of your "friends" you have hurt. Sharon and I spent the whole night worrying about you. We kept constant contact with Jeep and Will and they too were upset.
Good luck with everything that comes from your stunt, i'm sure the legal issues will be huge.

I think he expected to come up right away after he got out of the strait jacket... then the undertow took him out so far that he was swimming back even after they quit looking for his body... He's not the type of person that's out to hurt anybody so I believe something didn't go as planned. I donno... I can't wait to find out the real story when I talk to him next. I'm just very glad he's found. And much better... alive.
carry on carry on folks, nothing to see hereComment

I just called Michaels phone and he answered!! He's upset and apologetic at they way "he had to do it". He was sitting at the KWPD and being questioned.
I asked "Michael what the fuck was that?"
His reply " One helluva escape!!"
Thank God you're alive, keep in touch I wanna hear more.

And check out the bond.
Its really sad. I hope that in the end it wasn't intentional and it all gets straightened out.
Best of luck Mike.Last edited by jesus; Nov-01-2006, 08:41 PM.Comment

I'm not at all impressed, I was horrified to read the first couple of posts and I'm not sure being angry is any better.
I'm relieved that Mike's alive but others risked their lives unnecessarily and he has put more heat on the contentious image of performers at Key West.
Personally I think the discussion this issue will generate will be out of place here.
This is a place for fond memories, respect for those who inspired us and our heroes, not the analysis of a foolish act.
I'd like to see the entire thread moved to a new category in "The Green Room" called "Acts of Stupidity".Every-one should watch their drawers!

Hmmm
Ok, just my two cents after all these posts: it sounded like a stunt from the first post, and Beaumanz's posts read like he was in on it from the beginning.
And if the undertow is so strong, how is it that Will and Joseph, when they dived "down to the ocean's floor" (35 feet below), didn't get drawn out, too?
I may be totally wrong, but that's how it seems to me.Comment

I asked about the hours because I smelled a stunt. That didn't ease my mind at all.
It leaves a nasty taste.Every-one should watch their drawers!

Sometimes we need to think about everyone
This is from the Key West News.
"Joke's over for escape artist
While Keys residents and tourists wondered and worried about Michael Patrick's whereabouts after he jumped off Mallory Pier in a straitjacket Halloween night, he was checking into a Key West bed and breakfast with his girlfriend and his dog, police say."
I don't keep posting here just to be a voyeur, to me this kind of "joke" shows a real disrespect for other people and their feelings. I would go one to say that, in my opinion it is this lack of respect and thought about the feelings of others that is one of the key problems with society as a whole today.
It now seems rather clear that this was a "joke" and not any sort of accident.
I hope that he and any others involved are held accountable and made to take full resonsability for thier lack of respect.Comment

The media makes things out the way they want to... they acted as though it was a suicide, now they are saying it was a big prank. They don't know anything. Michael is in jail. They make hear-say out to be truth. I'm not going to judge him until he gets out of jail and he himself fesses up to whatever is the truth. Yes it now looks to be a bad stunt but hey, yesterday it really looked to be a suicide. I hate the media.Comment

Don't Pass blame to the media
Yesterday morning at 10:52 The Amazing Beaumanz posted:
I am sorry but trying to pass any blame onto the media for spinning this or blowing it out or proportion is lame.Just got off the phone with Will Soto. He's leaning towards a hoax. God I hope so!!!
His car is missing
His dog is missing
His bike is missing
Mike if you're alive, man up!! Alot of people who care about you are really worried.
Alot of other things are making us and the authorities think you pulled off your greatest stunt!!
Now I will try to stay out of this, but it actually touches on many things that I have very strong feelings about.
