    Bigtime Volkswagon campaign

Hey check out what the Yo-yo people, John and Rebecca Higby are up to at the moment:

It's a big promotion for Volkswagon beetles and it's really cool. Click on "Beetle movie" and "Force of Good tour" when you get to the page.

yeah, I went to the dealer and picked up the DVD. It's pretty interesting, although (as a perforemer) I wanted to see more of their show than they showed.
they are really dorkey, and fit the style VW is trying to promote for the New Beetle extreemly well.

How long is the whole thing, and what exactly do they show? Like, what's the strategy?
is it, like, "We never could have done this without this cool car"? or , the beetle just happens to be in the background, while the do cool stuff?
Maybe I should just go get it.

nevertheless, very cool for the Yo-Yo People, and for the Beetle.
Well, maybe I WILL just keep telling myself that.

it's basicly a commercial for the New Beetle. They go on a little road trip from Boston, to NYC and take a scenic route through Northampton, up to Rt 2 and to woodstock NY and so on. Along the way they check out some neat things and there are parts where they talk about things like how the car handles, and at those spots there is an option to stop the movie and learn more about that specific feature.
at the end they do a show in washington Sq. Park.
so yeah, it's the beetle just happens to be in the background, like... the beetle really fits our style and this is how.

ok. That makes more sense. The trailer didn't quite show the point, but I figured that a campaign like that had to be more than simple product placement. Great exposure, on the performer end of it. sweet deal. Smart deal.
