I hope your election goes the way you want it too.
It seems a rather important vote, a crossroads one might say.

rather than the way I want it to, I hope the election goes the way is best. Because I'm often wrong. But I hope I'm not this time.

...and I hope your Super Bowl goes the way you want it to.

...and I hope Jester's Burpday went the way he wanted it to.

So many wonderful events in one week. Enough to give me a migraine and make me throw up.

I have never really understood American HandEgg but now I shall root for the Seattle SeaHawks. For the first time ever I shall pay an interest. When is it? I know we have it on TV.

I hope Rachel gets a fair, fit, competent and just government and I am delighted to say my birthday was wonderful.

          Thank You.

I'm sorry Jesus, but after watching my team be so humiliated by them, I have to want Pitt to do the same to Seattle. Besides, Pittsburg fans supported Denver a few years back when we beat them to the Super Bowl.

We may not have Jester on our side but Big Ben may be just as good!

You should always support the team that beat yours in a knockout competition. Then you can say, we only never made the final cos we had the eventual winners early on.

England often lost to the eventual winners in the world cup.

              Anyway. Comeon Seattle. Comeon Seeeeaaaattttle.

Do you have footbal chants like we do? I could teach you some.

I watched a re-run of the match in a pub last night.

I didn't understand hardly any of it but it was very very exciting. I never knew so many americans lived near me. I'm learning bud. It's like cilivilised Rugby.

I might watch re run of pittsburgh match tonight.

It isn't actually my favorite sport, that would be hockey. The thing is that my "Team" in hockey has changed three times in my life, but the Seahawks have always been number one.
As for American football being civilized rugby; I happened to be in Australia for their National Rugby League playoffs and final. I am convinced that after ice hockey rugby is the most manly and exciting sport on our planet.
American football playoffs and the Super Bowl are like a Holiday to me because of childhood memories. There is something special about the gaudy over hyped spectacle of it all combined with beer and snack food that makes me feel warm and cozy on a winter afternoon.
                    Watch and enjoy!

I thought you avoided discussing politics at all costs.

I have a many ideas regarding how the election went, but I'm not the only Canadian on the forum, and I don't want to start trouble.

                      You know, 'religion and politics'.

Firstly, I have no problem saying the election didn't go the way I want. Steven Harper looks like a robot.

But, I too, at Geoff's unsolicited request, am now rooting for the Seahawks. I figure I'd better find a different team and maybe altogether different sport because my beloved Maple Leafs suck so bad this year.

Im glad you posted this Geoff. I now have a reason to get behind a team. Which should make watching the superbowl a little more interesting.

                                A down side

SO the down side to "my team" being in the superbowl is that the superbowl is on a sunday night and the next saturday I have to be in arizona to do shows for two months, this means I have to drive almost all the way form the east coast of the US to the west coast.
Usually I like to give my self plenty of time for a 2500 mile drive. And arrive in time to feel settled in before I start to work.
Now I am going to leave on the monday mornig and drive like hell in an attempt to be there wednesday night.
                                Stupid Seahawks!
                                They better win.
