    I Couldn't Help But Overhear...

I saw Hilby perform on the street in Dundas about a year and a half ago, and he made a great joke about how he was going to (paraphrased) "juggle five flaming penguins while dancing the chacha, blind folded, on top of a 20 foot unicycle, while singing 'Eye of the Tiger', by Survivor." (I can't remember exactly all the funny things he clamed he'd do) The audience laughed, and as the laughter subsided, a tiny, little boy next to me shook his head in disbelief and muttered, "Yeah right... Where's he gonna get the tiger?!"

Well, maybe I WILL just keep telling myself that.

I was on a bus (I spend half of my life on the bus) and I heard the most frank and honest conversation between a man and his (about) 4 year old son.

Boy - "I like monkeys. Daddy? What would eat a poor, little, baby monkey?"

Dad - "Oh, I don't know... A tiger would probably eat a poor, little, baby monkey."

Boy - "Oh." (playing with his truck) "Dad? What do trucks eat?"

    Dad - "Deisel."
Well, maybe I WILL just keep telling myself that.

On the HSR (Hamilton Street Rail. aka: bus)

Mom to son (after some smart answer to some question) - "Well, I'm smarter than the average bear!"

Son to Mom - "Yeah. ...too bad you're not quite as smart as a SMART bear."

...I love that one. I think -when I finally decide to perform, in whatever capasity- I'll use that as a line for hecklers. ...given that I'll have a lot, considering I have no skills.
But really -- having the IQ of a slightly smarter than average BEAR? It's not really something to brag about.

It is if you happen to be Yogi Bear, who is in fact a bear, and all you are doing is pointing out the mere fact that you are indeed above average.

i know, i know. ...but it never seems to be bears who quote that line.

PS: For the sake of my own insecurity, i need to say that I'm not really obsessed with forums and replying so instantly to everything... not really. I just got stuck working in front of a computer all day, and this forum is keeping me going.

          Overheard:
"Do you want to buy some Girlscout Cookies?"
          "YOU'RE a Girlscout cookie!!!"

...ok, that one was me. I was a little angry over my computer job. But the kid was asking for it.
