    Let there be rock.

Well, Jester makes a fine whipping boy and all, but throwing rocks at the retarded can get pretty dull after awhile. How about a little light hearted creativity. I write music in my spare time, in order to have one artistic outlet that I don't whore out to the public. I remember NYstreetdean mentioning that he writes some ditties too (and there has got to be a few others), so I figured we might as well share some mp3's

Here's something I wrote the other day, it was raining really hard, and then the sun came out.

Are you playing the violin or is it synthesised.

    It sounds very Kurt Weill.

I'm afraid I have no MP3. I have a recording of something I played and wrote over 20 years ago. I'm not a musician by any standards.

I did enjoy your peice though. I hope this thread takes off.

I can't get the thing to play. So I took your suggestion and threw rocks at retard's heads. I play the violin. My aim is to play in the orchestra eventually. I study music but probably not the rock and/or roll your talking about. The theme of this week is my pet hate how people who call themselves "musicians" can't freakin' read music. Can you read music, Eric or a you just another phony like all the rest of the hippies with a Bob Dylan song or a punk with a 3 string guitar?

Miss Fire, your browser probably doesn't like .mp3 files, right click, (or control click? for a mac) choose "save target as..." save that puppy somewhere and then open it up with whatever audio program you use.

There are literally hundreds of thousands of people out there who can read music and write total crap, there are quite a few geniuses that couldn't read music, like Raymond Scott, (who revolutionized Jazz, and without whom, Warner Bros. cartoons would have been silent. Interesting side-note, Raymond never once saw a cartoon in his life) the definition of "musician" is one who makes music, not one who READS music, my advice... Get a new pet peeve.

C'mon, somebody out there has got an mp3, this thread is a day old and it's already turning into another pnet wind tunnel. Maybe I'll just post another...

Oh, yeah. Yes, I can read music, but I need a slide rule and a lot of time.

                        Spooky yet succulent.

I enjoyed it, I played it to one of my houseplants with no ill effect.

For heavens sake. Even I can read music. I just can't hit the right keys, in the right sequence, in good time.

your file caused my computer to pause, cough and die...

as in - i have the slowest computer on the face of the planet.

i will download into itunes, listen later and then post response as to my opinion.

how do you put an mp3 file into a post - if you can explain that for me, i'll be happy to include a track from an orginal musical (LYSISTRATA! The Musical) which i performed in in cleveland several years ago...

though i sing - i would hardly call myself a musician & that's really the only contribution i can make to this thread at this point.

[trying to keep it from turning into a wind tunnel]
                            peace out,
                            k

Kate, p.net doesn't support mp3 attachments, so you have to host the file somewhere, and then post a link to it, if you don't have a personal web page or server space to do so, I'll host it for you, just eamil it to me, and where is NYStreetDean? I'm sure he's got something. Maybe butt Man could even throw in a recording of one of his hour long constipation Arias...
