Do Hippies have the right to play in you show and take half your hat because you are

The one good thing about insurance and regulations is it makes a great excuse for telling a hippy that they can't be in my show. The trouble with hippies is they are so superficially good natured that you feel mean and they hang around while you count your cash and you feel obliged to buy them a coffee if they hang around for long enough.

I love it when jugglers come up, and they can pass and they want to do a little passing and have a laugh and they don't ever ask "Can I be in your show?" So why hippies with one lousy uninsured fire trick?

I think you guys must have different hippies in the UK than here... our hippies are not superficial in any way, they are not scabs and they wouldn't take your money.. we would refer to those as "Derros" and nope, they wouldn't have the right to anything, but then it is all up to you.. hey, if you don't want to give them anything, then DONT!!

You politely ask me to keep out of your threads and then at the very first opportunity you include me...Twat.

          Effin Hippies...

Ten years ago our group started our performing career in one of the biggest hippy towns in America- Boulder, CO- (ask Evan). Finally I can agree with something Jester said- it IS funny when these patchouli smelling-way too mellow-haven't heard of shampoo-mothereffers try to get into the show. Usually they're harmless and the women dance (however, they scare away the kids with their hygiene)...but come on- just because you've played the drums once in your life doesn't make you part of the act- unless we take the piss out of you. Take a shower, for christ sake. Don't scare the kids.

And yes- thank god for the insurance excuse- even if we've never had insurance.

No Martin, I asked you not to snipe in my threads.

I was not sniping at you, it was a point of conversation.

I thought your idea of a hippy was so different to mine that it seemed worth mentioning.

You socially inept vacuous attention sponge.

You use the words, "your hippies" so presumably your addressing Alice rather than bleating at the choir. She's got 30 something posts, she joined this year. that whole thread re hippies happened last year. Its typically clod-stompingly irrelivant and impolite to reference subjects in a conversation that the other party has no knowlege of. You either knew that, which makes you selfish and petty and if I may say so just a little fixated. Or you didn't which just makes you clumsy and lazy and insensitive.
To summarise, references only work if the person you are talking to knows what you are talking about.

There you go again. Repeating stuff.

Did you know that astonishingly the average Parrot has a reading age of 4 years. Which is great for a parrot. Please remain sat on Martins shoulder when you enter this thread, I've just laid a new carpet.

Tah Dah. It wasn't meant nastily, it was a freindly attempt at humour and I apologise in advance if you didn't find it funny.

the funniest part was that you apologized in advance for not being funny...

                      that's approaching comedy.

If the hippies you are talking about are so harmless, why do you buy a coffee for them, instead of telling the truth? I sense you still want to be liked by them, even though you don't like them? why not be plain honest, instead of backstabbing them while being comfortably behind your computer?

In 2003 I saw a couple of street kids (hippies) ask chris and amy if they could be a part of thier fire spinning show. They presented credentials of a circus nobody has ever heard of and skills like biting the head off of a chicken, and hammering a nail into ones head.
Amy said, "we arn't a geek show and we don't really want to go in that direction."
The two vagabonds couldn't believe the insult they had just been delt. "we are profesionals, I can't believe you just called us a geek show. how dare you talk to us in that kind of derogitory manner."
Then amy had to explain that the skills they were offering had industry names, like Geek show, and human blockhead; and that she was not insulting them in any way. I confirmed her assertations and the two idiots went on their way acting like they had just been victimized.

Most of the boulder street kids seem to have a lot of respect for me and keep their distance durring my show (I don't know why). In the last two years I've only had one person ask to be a part of my show, and she wanted to be a legit intern (be the perfect girl volounteer every show in exchange for juggling and performing lessons). She wasn't a "hippie", she was there with her parents, and she was in fact on of the best volounteers I've ever had. I wish I had her number because I could actually use her this summer (run a vid camera at every show)
