today i was walking down the street with a friend and we saw this guy walking with a sign that said "6' 7" Jew will freestyle rap for you. organic food appreciated" so of course we had to give it a shot. he asked my friend what we wanted him to flow about so we requested a hanukuh freestyle. the guy was amazing! portland is funny. we, of course, made a donation.

On two different occasions when I have been in Leeds in the past year on a Saturday afternoon I have enjoyed watching a group I refer to as "Rappers for Jesus". I think they come from London really and they are not exactly street performers. They are street evangelists. But unlike every other street evangel who has annoyed me around the world and often times engaged me in long arguments about Jesus just because he is jealous of my ability to draw a crowd when he seems to drive them away with his ranting and raving, the "Rappers for Jesus" could be straight off the MTV rap show. These brothers are getting down for the Lord - straight up motherfucker. Wait, sorry, I don't think they actually used that word. Especially not in reference to the Virgin Mary at this time of the year. I do apologize.

Anyway they pulled a big crowd of young people and then rather than pass the hat, they were promoting their evening service/performance/something or other for that night.

I'd like to see a rap contest between the Christians and the Jew and off course it would really get exciting when the Homeboys for Allah showed up.
