    Voting Blocks

I'm a visual artist, on the side. I'm creating 26 alphabet blocks for a gallery show in October, and want to have 2 opposing words on each letter...

    E Enron
    E Environment

I'm looking for ear-twitching words, like Bagdad, Military, ect, and want to put the idea out to greater minds than mine.

    Any thoughts?

Karl, great idea. I don't think that my mind comes anywhere close to being greater than yours, but I'd like to see the ball get rolling...

Fox, I think needs to be involved. Maybe Fox-Fallacy
    Somebody has already use "Faux"

Also, Air America this afternoon posed the question, "What is Condoliza Rices' (sp... dont care) job?" I've been trying to look at this question in a way that could help you, but have found no end. Anybody?

    What is your medium?

          Aunt Tom?

I'd say her job is to "look pretty, and refuse to think," but the woman looks like a strung out zombie, she pisses me off more than Georgie Peorgie.

Thanks for the replies. The blocks will be made of granite, shaped like cubes informally and smoothed with a grinding cup wheel. They'll be painted with gesso, then a coat of marine epoxy white, then various colors and graphics.

The show is called "vote with your art", the piece is "voting blocks", and the best words will be juxtaposed thoughts on existing issues, starting with the same letter.

Scott, yes, I am "supposed to be the creative one". This form of creativity is "brainstorming" or "collaborating", searching for ideas, and help with the initial concept, outside of yourself. It's worked really well for me over the years, in my act, and in my visual work. You may consider it invalid.

                          Hey Karl,

Either I've been ripped off (and ripped off) a lot of people at crapps or a cube has six sides.
Shouldn't you be looking for six words per cube?

Why use granite(or any other classic stone) if you are going to paint over it. The stone will always be harder than the paint (even epoxy) and the paint will always fuck up. Why not simple wood blocks?

BTW. Did you know you write poetry in a 6/8 (Waltz) rythmn. It's quite wierd trying to put it to music (flying pig stuff).

                            Hey there, Peter.

I might do some wood ones.

Most of what I do is in stone, and I have some granite cube shapes here that interest me, is why I chose it thus far.

The two remaining sides of a given block will be painted, not in words. I'll post a photo later this month.

Moochas gracias, authors. Oil - orgasm is fantastic, ´tienne.
