Shaolin Monks on DVD

I've been watching a really good DVD filmed during the theatre tour of Britain by the kung fu , zen-budist masters the Shoalin Monks. The video shot in London in 2000 is called Wheel of Life. I bought it cheap and thought it would be interesting to see a bit of stage Kung Fu demonstration and was surprised that there is really a lot more that pertains to our field in this show. There is a bit of acrobatics, contortionism, staff twirling, poi swinging, of course num-chucks, bed of nails, self-torture, and breaking iron bars over their own heads (yes, really!). It's a great video if you get the chance to see it.

I have to say though, that not one of these puny wimps set a board on fire and broke it with his fist, but first......

I saw one of their first shows on their first tour EVER (of that magnatude....1996) the grand finale was this little monk tied and quatrered to four Harley Davidsons. but the highlight for me was either the 12 year old one finger handstand, or the 2x4 shattering force feild one monk created around his body and head.
