    The hole world is a stage, as Monty Python's animations so aptly prove. There is no audience, only participants.

    And therein, dear Louise, is the rub. This isn't a proscenium arch, its the street. Involve your audience. I don't care what your schtick is, once you've gotten audience participation you have a direct line to its collective pocket book.

    But then that's implicit in the wonderful list Robert has layed on us.

      although much of that advice is based on needing to ask for money at the end of yer show....if you don't do that its a whole other ball game....and if you do do that but are working in France, say, it is also a whole other ball game! depends on country and method of finance....levels of concentration, culture and subtlety...a volunteer is pretty guaranteed to attract attention but i fear often over used to the extent that the "volunteer" does much more than the "performer"....
