I was rooting for Boston too, but now I have to root for the Yankees because I don't want florida to win anything ever again. If Florida does win I'm going to demand a recount.
I wanted the Cubs to win it all Comment

Growing up in NW Indiana all of my life I have been inundated with the failures of Chicago's sports teams. This year was nothing new. I can say though, that those whiny New York fans really bite the big one. They are so conceited. It's as if the Yankees are supposed to be given the championship! I agree with the previous two comments: Yankees suck!Comment

Not winning since 1918 that sucks. After all the money spent to put a team together just to beat the yankees and they still failed, they even had there ace pitchure on the mound and a four point lead in the 8th inning and still lost THAT SUCKS!!! THE BOSTON RED SOX ARE LOOSERS.Comment

Is anyone going to watch this World Series? It will probably be one of the lowest rated series ever.
I know Yankees fans that said they were secretly hoping for a Red Sox/Cubs World Series. If that had happened, It would probably have been the MOST watched World Series. It surely would have been exciting for people across the country. But now that it's the Yankees (again... *yawn*) and the Marlins (who can't fill a stadium when they play at home) there's just no excitement.
The last baseball game I watched this year was on Thursday.
I can't say the Yankees suck because there are good players on the team. But there are definitely things about their fans and their organization that suck. This year's Red Sox did great with what they had. With better management and a few different decisions, they would have won that game... After an entire SEASON, the Division playoffs, plus SIX more games and ELEVEN innings... the Red Sox and Yankees were EVEN. It came down to a fluke home run by a below average hitter. Now THAT'S what sucks.
Next year will be the year!Comment

No it was not just a fluke homer by a below average player that won that game. Remember Boston was leading 5 to 1 in the 8th inning it took few good plays for the Yankees to catch up then there was the so called fluke home run. There was a series of plays and good decisions by there veteran players and coaches/manager that lead to the Yankees winning that game. As far as a boring world series who cares the play offs were enough excitement. The Yankees and the Red sox in the play offs for seven games "A DO OR DIE ENDING" was enough excitement. The world series is just a couple of extra bonus games for true baseball fans to go to before baseball season ends until next summer YANKEES RULE!!!Comment

So you're saying the World Series doesn't matter? Then I guess you don't mind that your Yankees just lost the first game to the Marlins.
There's always next year, Julio!

I think the yankees played a hell of a good game today considering they had less time to rest then the marlins did. Remember they just played one hell of a game with the red sox the day before yesterday and the marlins were resting all that time. NEVER COUNT THE YANKEES OUT TIL IT'S OVER JIM BOY. "THE YANKEES RULE" and if the marlins do happen to win it still doesn't take away from the fact that THE RED SOX SUCK!!!!Comment

Well, by birth, I'm a Yankees fan, but the past years of buy buy buy the winning team have put me off them to the extent that I found myself sometimes wishing Boston would win. No matter where you sat, though, that game 7 was pure poetry.Comment
