Warm greetings to my family of performers,
This is my first time posting. I just wanted to share an experience I had recently. I was working at the 4th largest State Fair in the U.S. last month, and was asked by the management to open for Weird Al Yankovic. All I can say is that is was the biggest rush I've ever felt - playing to Ten Thousand People. I was asked mere hours before the concert. I had already done two shows on the grounds that day, and had two more before the evening concert. I try to imagine the unsuspecting people waiting to see Weird Al, and out comes a cowgirl, wearing a walking cast (I broke a bone in my foot earlier in the summer and have been limping around ever since). No one threw anything, so i guess they liked it. I didn't meet Weird Al, but wrote a note to him via his website saying "It was nice opening for you...maybe someday we'll have the chance to meet." Thanks for reading, and hope you all are happy and working!
