the greatest song nobody's ever heard

I'm a music collecter and always am looking for new discoveries... does anyone have any recommendations for groups/songs that are obscure or that were once popular and have since been forgotten?

My latest favorite artists:

Royskopp
Sigur Ros

unheard songs that I like:

"email" - pet shop boys
"here" - pet shop boys

Etienne,

When you're in Boston, tune to 90.3 WZBC, Boston College Radio. You will hear great stuff you've never heard before, all day long. And at night it's some of the weirdest experimental stuff you will ever hear. Especially Thursdays after 7.

M-F
7am-7pm = Rock, Pop, Indie
7pm-whenever = Experimental "No Commercial Potential"

Wed and Fri nights are the best.

Saturdays and Sunday days are generally kind of lame. Sunday nights it picks up again.

Also, 88.1, 91.5, 88.9 ...The college stations... no commercials.

Jim

www.kcou.mu.org

This is the web site for the college station here in Columbia MO. It's a great station, I listen to it as often as possible. They have a web broadcast, but it's down right now. Anyway, check out their charts. And if you ever happen to be in Columbia Missouri (maybe you would play at MU?) listen to 88.1fm.
KCOU also puts out a zine, you can check it out online at snocone.mu.org, it has reviews and stuff. the onion.com av club has pretty good reviews as well.
rock it out. and ben, I listened to the sample on your web site, good stuff.

Etienne..

I am, by far one of the the biggest Pet heads in the world. Hearing someone else actually gives a damn about the Pet Shop Boys after all these years..
Whew. There's a new album coming out on Feb. 3... Disco 3, it's called. I got a copy already. I have at least one of every single album they've released.. I think the song you're referring to, "Here", is actually called "Home". If it has the lyric string in it "Somebody smiles and it means I love you.." than yes, the title is actually "Home."

I sound like a fanboy.

Anyways.

A good song that perhaps some of us could relate to is "Home and Dry" by none other than the Pet Shop Boys.

Good tune.
