the board is sloowwwwwww

Hmm.. has everyone gone and left me here alone? The horror!

Seriously though, posting seems to have really slowed down in the last little while... *ponders why this may be*

hmm... if there's nobody here then I suppose I will make myself at home. *makes lentil sandwich*

Oh dear me, I'm remembering that this is the internet and I cannot literally do much of anything aforememntioned. 'Tis after 2am, so please excuse this unusual post (that began ever so innocently) and I shall bid you g'night....

Everyone is probably at Motionfest. Lord knows i'd be there if I coulda hitched a ride or something. Just to pass my melancholy i was gazing at the Motionfest pics up on www.orbitalent.ca

(Actually I'm having a brilliant weekend off, relaxing, rare indeed!)

Cheers,
Bri

Yup, that was my guess, too. Everyone is at MotionFest. And I've been at ANOTHER conference for the last 4 days. (I'm looking forward to hearing MotionFest gossip.) Expect things to get back to normal on Tuesday or so... and then things should pick up even more in December. The boards are always busier in the winter.

heh thanks for the suggestions but

1 - I can't juggle worth crap...well I can juggle 3 but that's it, and they only last a little while before breaking some furniture...
2 - twisting balloons is fun! But I don't think I have any of the right type...I'm all out
3 - Hehe...the entire male species in my area is extremely immature....I don't know what it is about Saskatchewan guys..... maybe they're like this other places too... I don't know.... Anyway, thanks

- Can't juggle worth crap?!!??!! ALL THE MORE REASON TO GET AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER AND PRACTICE!!!!! Clowns that can't juggle... what's this world coming to?

- as for balloons, well, I always hated them anyway.

- If those boys are immature, darling, than maybe what you need is an older man... but PLEASE don't look for him on the internet.

Really, it can be boring on this net. I've been posting less these days- I've been very busy, and I've also become a little paranoid. There are a lot of "lurkers" on P-net. People who look at the forums, read what everyone else thinks or feels and never contribute. They gleen what they can, form their opinions and move on... It's a bit like having someone evesdrop on your conversation and I don't appreciate that.

These people primarily go straight to the "gigs" section and never anywhere else, so chances are they'll miss this post. I wonder... Hmmmm...

Back to the original point-- Really, get out of the house and go somewhere else. Play in your dad's dirty magazine collection or bake some cookies. Download some mp3's, or better yet right some songs of your own. Read a book, even! There is a world outside of your computer screen, and it's waiting for you... go find it.

p.s. Think about going to motionfest west! www.motionfest.com

Got to agree with both sides here.

Yes, Crescent's right -- there's not a whole lot of there there in SK. Guys are useless until they're around thirty (but they won't date you until you're at least eighteen -- if one tries, run away and call the police. In the meantime, listen to music that was popular before you were born so when you do come of age you'll get all their out-of-date pop culture references.)

On the other hand, there are downsides to excessive dependence on a bbs inhabited by bitter geeks with peter pan complexes (which I say with affection, guys. bitter geeks are sex gods). Your ability to socialize in the real world can get stunted. Really really stunted. You can get carpal tunnel syndrome. And when everyone's off doing whatever it is they're doing, you're left without company.

At the same time, high school (you're in high school, right?) tends to bring out some of peoples' nastier qualities, so going out and trying to fit in etcetera isn't necessarily a good thing either. High school is the *reason* most of the young people who spend all their free time online do so. Well, high school and free porn. But we digress.

Remember, people will give you a lot more encouragement and help now, while you're a student who can be moulded and exploited, than at any other time in your life. Use this to land yourself an internship in some amazingly cool company, or to get into an exchange program so you can spend a semester somewhere else (just make sure it's a good somewhere else with nice weather and that you know at least one person nearby who will make you dinner when you're homesick and miserable and drive you to the hospital when your appendix ruptures).

If there's a community college nearby, as a HS student you should be able to take really cheap classes in all sorts of neat things, and the other people around will be older and have their shit a bit more together, plus some interesting viewpoints on the world. (Not sure how the community college system works in Canada.)

Have fun. Go play. Make foolish mistakes (but always carry condoms, cab fare, change, and the phone numbers for at least two cab companies). Do the things you won't be able to do in your early twenties because you'll be poor and overworked (though brilliant and hopeful). Bake cookies, practice juggling, stamp crop circles into peoples' front lawns in the dead of night to start tiny alien panics.

Post brilliantly on boards and try to get your blog picked up by a major internet magazine. Figure out how much it would cost to attend MotionFestWest and start a fundraising drive to send yourself. Shame everyone on the board into chipping in. And if you just want to hang out on performers.net all the time, that's okay too, because we like you here.

Thanks

okay to reply: I am going to busk with my guitar next summer, and put the funds towards motionfest...which I'll probably go to whenever my mum will let me (probably at 17).
I'm 14 right now, btw. I'm doing my highschool by correspondence, so I don't have the peer pressure crap and I can socialise WAY better than school kids (not meaning to BRAG!!!!)

Actually, I get along WAY better with people older than me...
in fact I'm a WEIRD person..I'm 14 and EXCITED about university

anyway thanks again.

Hey, how was motionfest everyone????
