Peter feels the sting

    Peter, Bev-

I am in NO WAY condoning Richies recent letters about the both of you. But having said this I must remark on how the two of you are reacting to Richies comments.

He is talking down your work, your home life, your personal character, and, according to your replies, beginning to spread some very outrageous lies about your personal conduct.

You dislike this so much that after just a few days of feeling the sting you have already threatened the involvement of your lawyer friend.

Funny that you didn't consider these various points during the 2+ years that you, Peter (plus the Prof, Brady and Martin) were doing the very same things towards me.

Shoe is now on the other foot. Kinda pinches, doesn't it?

Glad to have you aboard, chance, I knew you'd be reading keenly.

Why do you include my partner's name in a posting so obviously directed at me? Learning off Gregory are we?

There's a big difference, Chance. You were subject to a practical joke which, despite repeated clues, you did not get. We tried, you know!

But you were, also, astoundingly rude (abusive? you proudly posted it)to a 16 year old drama student who asked some questions here and of those who use this site. Then you were the first to pose the problem of libellous postings, under false names, when you attacked Trevour (regardless of Trevour's stupidity) here.

I don't think anyone accused you of bashing your wife.

Thank you for your contribution, chance. We were waiting for it but you really shouldn't have wasted your time. Richie is twice the arsehole you are, twice as stupid and twice the performer.

Simon has also enjoyed several of your writings too, chance, something that has been discussed here before.

How about sponsoring one of my "Flying Pigs" though, chance, it's only $150 Australian bucks (about $88 US). They're nearly finished, (45 of them) and the images are great. Get in while it's cheap, in 4 weeks it's finished and we launch it.

    Go on, try it.

Why did I mention Bev by name? Easy. Because she wrote her own letter in the first person. Besides, Bev I know and have shared coffee with -- quite unlike yourself who I have never even met.

You say you were expecting my letter just now. Why is that? Feeling a twinge of conscience, perhaps?

Contrary to your explanation just now, what you guys did was so far beyond a "practical joke" it would be like comparing a fire cracker to a car bomb. Pulling a chair from under someone is a practical joke. Putting too much hot sauce on a friends taco would be a practical joke. Leaving a funny comment about Jim's knee socks is a joke. But, leaving scores of public messages that I have stolen property from another performer during an organized festival in a forum designed to be read by those people who would want to hire me for an upcoming festival, etc, would only be considered a practical joke by a very sick minded person.

Doing so once, just once, MIGHT be considered humourous. A very bad joke nonetheless, but only marginaly funny, if at all. Doing so over 50 times over a two-year period could never be considered a harmless attempt at a practical joke. I am sure even your lawyer friend would agree.

And here you are threatening Richie with legal action after just a few days. I find this hypocritical to the extreme.

And just what the hell does this mean?:

[quote]There's a big difference, Chance. You were subject to a practical joke which, despite repeated clues, you did not get. We tried, you know!

What, as though you had to clue me in on the fact that nothing you said was the truth? Do you have any idea how rediculous this statement sounds?

If you really had any intention to resolve the conflict you helped to start, the thing to do, and which still needs to be done, is to explain yourself to the people who, unlike me, did not know that what you were saying was an outright lie. If even one person, after reading your various comments, took away with them the belief that perhaps any of it was true, then that alone is all the proof I need to prove your intentions.

Obviously there is some kind of bad blood between you and Richie. Whatever. It's not of my business. But at least the two of you know each other somewhat intimately, and this could explain some of the exchanges you have been sharing. On the other hand, what has always amazed me is how absolutely engrossed you have been in my life when the fact remains that we have never even met face to face. Would to God that day would come to an end.

For fuck's sake, chance, Nick has been pulling jokes like this longer than you've had a straight-jacket. It never was an attack, it was an invitation, you missed the point.
Catch up with the game will you. Wait until the cowguys figure out last year's joke, the legend of the gerbil is also a beauty and Mothman still doesn't know where the 5th bug is.

I guess I am just a little bit confused at the moment. I can't help but wonder what it is I am suppossed to stop doing to you, Peter. What have I ever done to you?

Have I ever called you a thief, either to your face or behind your back?

How about a wife beater? Have I ever called you that?

Have I ever mentioned that you are an alcoholic?

                A child molester?

Have I ever written letters (or spoken in person) to festival directors stating what a bad person you are?

                Well? Have I?

So tell me what it is that you would like me to stop doing to you and we'll see what happens next.

                        Q. What's the difference between LDR and Micheal Jackson?
                        A. LDR has had his nose flattened and is painting himself black.

                        Q. What's the difference between LDR and Mike Tyson.
                        A. LDR always bites.

Richie, on behalf of Bev, Ulla, Larry and Dianna, I thank you for your retraction and apology. It seems my messenger was more diplomatic than accurate. However........

                            I'm just glad you're writing.

PS... When you are completely black, can we, Bev, Ulla and yours truly (Chalk Circle), do a Body Art piece on you?

Whew! Your apology is just in the nick of time Richie, since legal action was no doubt right around the corner.

Hey Peter. Now that Richie has shown you the way, perhaps you could somehow find it within yourself to make a sincere, heart-felt public apology of your own? You know, one without cop-outs, half truths or pseudo explanations as to why you (and your friends) spent more than two years publicly defaming me -- just one good ol' fashioned apology.

Got it in ya big guy?
