    The Nose of WC Fielda

Wish we had a "nose" icon. Funny timing here. My daughter Samantha is doing a report on WC Fields, and has asked me why his nose was so big. Her teacher believes there is a story behind it, from the 20s or 30s.
I know more than one of you nose this one, thought I'd sniff you out. Save me some time with the books, willya?
Oh man, I can't believe I typed "Fielda" Jim, switch that, willya?

    Taxi,

Copy and paste the text into a new topic with the correct title. I'll delete this one.

I can't change the title of a topic.

      Hey Taxi,

Actually there were two conditions that affected W.C. Fields' nose. First was that he was severly abused by his father as a child, he ran away from home before he was 12, and he had his nose broken repeatedly. This gave it that bulbous look.

The second is a skin infection called rosacea. It affects fair-skinned people and it characterized by red flaking skin and lesion that can start to bleed.
      It also causes some swelling.

      Hope this helps!

I'd add one more that--sever and heavy consumption of alchohol, which also bursts the capillaries in the nose.

God!There really is alot in the nose(knows)isn't there? It's such a multi-dimensional topic! The isn't certainly alot of depth to this subject! There's Nose(Know's)Business Like Show Business!
The nose really is a very prominant feature for a clown's comical anatomy! Why do clown's emphasize the red nose so much?Because it's synonymous with the clown's character & there are also others reasons!Apprently i read somewhere that the clown's red nose is synonymous with the Devil!
Crikey!I'll have to dig that one up again.....& get what it exactly said about it!
Nevertheless it's just common sense that the Schnoz....it an essential part of a clown's expression when they have to use their body for a medium for their art!You can convey a message from the material to the ethereal....but if you couldn't see anything...it would just be ethereal!Visual humour.....can't be witnessed by blind people....so i guess they're not so fond of Mr Bean!Well Black Adder can be heard.....& Not The 9 O'clock News!
Anyway i'll just to a Breatharian Barbarian & breathe in all the second-hand air!Just joking?I'm going to get some real sense!Maybe i should get some real fresh air in Antarctica! The cleanest air in the World!
It's funny how the penguins there spiral in & out of each other taking turns back & front....so they can keep themselves warm!
Gosh! You're snot would freeze there.....that it would make it hard to breathe!Cheeers & crikey
