bacon vrs. chocolate. a fight to the death.

I'm a recovering sugar addict. About five years ago I cut myself off (for the most part. I've since graduated to monitoring myself.) I was just out of control and having a boxes of Oreos for supper and stuff. I used to be proud of myself for not being one of "those girls" who eats half a cookie and "feels soooo fat". and not buying into the North American, Hollywood idealof what a woman should be, etc, etc. ...but I lost control. When I went cold turkey (on the sweet stuff) I eventually noticed I had started replacing the addictive qualities of sugar with the addictive qualities of greasy, meaty goodness. Jamaican meat patties, 7-11 taquitoes, Hot Rotrod meat sticks, plenty of bacon... all the horribly good crap. I figured I probably wasn't making much of a difference. Like, I had just replaced one harmful thing for another. But at least the greasy intake I could control better than sugar.

Five years later and 45/50ish pounds lighter...

The switch over has done me well on the outside, but I have a hunch I'm probably more damaged on the inside.

If someone could just find me a nice veggie to replace the grease addiction... I like avacado, but I don't know if it can stand up to a good Jamaican patty.
Well, maybe I WILL just keep telling myself that.

you need to replace what feels good, not what can give you that same feeling.

if you decide to like not being sick, waking up feeling good, healing quickly, clarity without caffeine, helping the environment, eating your share of the earth's food, reducing government spending, then you might enjoy being a vegan.

if you want to continue fighting depression with every meal, enjoying the convenience of modern American food availability, and feeling the comfort of eating the way you are told by the majority; you should stay an omni.

2 avacados give you the fat rda for a 2000 calorie diet.

If I could ever find an avacado made from sausage, then I would be set!.......love that green meaty taste.

How about making a sandwich from five grain bread slathering the Jamaican spice sauce on and load on the avocado. Could be it's the spice, not the grease you are craving.
