round 2 doesn't start until next monday, but last night was the first night of round 1 and I placed second. The guy who placed first is named Jay Wendall Walker, he's 63 years old, and has been doing comedy for 42 years, and I'm pretty sure if he "fell down some steps", he wouldn't get up. I told him so.

I have to keep placing in the top 5 for the next 5 nights to advance to the next round.

No, there's a drop night. You can drop your scores from one night so that they don't pull down your average. I won't know if I've moved on until Sunday.

I just wasn't very good last night. I'll kick ass tonight.

I scored in the 8's I think. 10 is best possible, plus an extra encore point (you get it if the people continue to clap for you for ten seconds after your set). I also went over time, which docked me half a point. So I guess for a bad night I didn't bite it too bad. I'll get back up over 10 tonight.

I took 5th last night. I'd have done better but I got paranoid about going over and didn't do my closer, I ended really weak, but I know what to do to stay under time and still do my closer the rest of the week.

One week's notice, but my job doesn't seem to mind, as I have lately been getting paid to show up, while our commercials are waiting for client approval.
This will be my first paid trip to my first film festival acceptance, and my first time to the East Coast.
