The Berkshires Children's Circus (Pittsfield, MA) has positions available for:
Circus Arts Coaches and Counselors
Must be available M-F 8:30a-4:30p plus orientation/setup weekend before camp and final show on Saturday (27 July to 17 August 2002).
Coaches should have experience in one or more of the following: Clowning, Acrobatics, Aerial, Juggling, Equilibristics or Gymnastics. Teach 4-6 hours per day and choreograph group acts for the final show. Be able to work independently and to collaborate with coaching staff.
Counselors should have experience supervising children in a summer camp environment. CPR training a plus.
Campers aged 8-15 learn circus skills, circus history, build props, publicize the show during the three-week day camp. The experience culminates in a circus performance open to the public. Housing is provided.
Camp is located in western Massachusetts in the heart of the Berkshire Hills. Surrounding cultural attractions include Shakespeare & Co. productions, Tanglewood summer concerts, Kripalu Yoga Center, Norman Rockwell Museum.
