    freak friendly Vancouver venue

We are looking for any kind of talent for the small stage of our small Vancouver bar.

We will be putting on cabaret style shows on the weekends - Klezmer band, troupe of hula dancers and a unicycle riding, chainsaw juggler one night; opera singer, contortionist, go-go dancers and comedian the next.

Performers will be paid - seems strange that that should even have to be written but I know the world is full of scum. Exact rate of pay will be worked out with each and every performer but, rest assured, we're not asking you to perform for a jug of beer. Big ticket performers are not likely to see our stage - we're just way too small (100 seats).

Bar is located in one of Canada's most affluent neighborhoods but clientele will be mixed... very mixed. We aim to bring together a very eclectic mix of individuals to conduct a nightly experiment in social alchemy.

Unfortunately, despite the wording of his ad,this client is unable to offer any guarantee of payment to performers(not even a paltry $50 per 15 min set)and asked this writer for a free appearance at his club's opening despite the fact that we are total strangers.
Whatever he may think, this client has demonstrated that he's not looking for professional performers, and this writer believes his needs would be best met by a newbie looking for exposure and experience.

This client is now willing to give a guarantee of a minimum payment which you can work out with them.
I think it was slim pickings for em performer-wise and that was their incentive to make this concession.
      There's a lesson here...

This client has shut down the live entertainment aspect of their bar, deeming it an unsuccessful venture.

That's too bad. He really gave it, what, all of 4 weeks to generate business.
