From the webpage. How to be a part of the new-look Trafalgar Square

The Greater London Authority is looking for street entertainers to play a part in the new plans for Trafalgar Square.

This summer a pilot scheme of daily entertainment is being launched and the GLA is looking for skilled street art performers to perform on the Square from July.

In this initial pilot, the plan is to have street performers on the Square up to three days each week and at weekends if there are no other planned events.

Street performance is just one element of a whole range of initiatives aimed at making Trafalgar Square a more vibrant and social space. Other plans include ice cream and coffee sellers, pedestrianisation of the north side of the Square, and a programme of large-scale events that started with the Celebrate South Africa concert in April.

For further information on street performing and application details please write to or e-mail trafalgar.square@london.gov.uk, Trafalgar Square Cultural Projects, Greater London Authority, Romney House, Marsham Street, SW1P 3PY.
