Yup, I did. It went fine. I got there for the early audition at about 5 till 12. I was the eighth person to audition. There were mostly musicians and clowns (balloons, face painters). You get 5 minutes to audition, I did a short magic show - had to do a bit of crowd draw but it was really easy and I ended up making about $20 (they encouraged you to collect at the end). The organizers were also really nice.

Just wondering if magic Brian ever got the spot? Has anyone else done this? Anyone else planning to do it this year?

I've been working down there (when I'm in town) over the last 7 years. I have hosted the auditions for the last three. There have been a lot of changes which are killing the program. I have set up a meeting in early April with the marketing manager to see if there is someway to salvage the program. It has had it's ups and downs over the years but last year they took away two pitches and restricted the big pitch to only be worked weekdays.
I'll post here again after the meeting to keep those interested in the loop.

Yes, keep us (or me) in the loop. I've been to the website and notice
that you have to submit and application, which your post just reminded
me that I have to do....

            Keep us posted. Thanks.

Hey. I posted some more info here: http://www.performers.net/forums/sho...t=16264&page=3
It's at the bottom of the page.

I'm waiting to hear back about when the auditions are. I was pushing for a weekend so there would actually be an audience there to perform for.

                    Awesome!!!

Well just don't laugh when you see me perform

I just realized that you can only go 3 minutes, so now I'm working out
to trim my routine down just for the audition....

                    Should be an awesome day...
