Buskers Wanted.

Hi. I am based in Arnprior Ontario, about 30 minutes west of Kanata. We are holding our first annual Eastern White Pines Festival August 27,28 and 29th. Details of the event can be found here http://www.arnpriorwhitepinefestival.ca/

This event is going to be a town wide festival. The 28th especially but the 29th as well is going to see many people visiting the town. We are hoping to attract some Street performers to help spice up the walks from events. There will be several key corners that would be prime for performances.

We are not charging any fee and we understand that you set up and collect money as you perform, We think that is great. All events and hosts are being asked to give back 10% of any monies earned to help promote the festival for the following year.

Any performers that participate this year will have first shot at next years festival.

we will be advertising this event through out the Ottawa Valley and Ottawa and hope to have a great turn out.

If anyone is interested please let me know! If there is a place that I can advertise our desire for performers elsewhere could someone let me know. Thanks.

I would like to say good luck for your 2st festival
But actually im going to say good grief
You are not, I would wager, get (m)any (quality) street performers for this
Just for your future info and so you understand, normaly we recieve travel expences, stipend, hotel, food aswell as hat money which we keep - sometimes choosing to donate to something should we CHOOSE
It seems as though you are not offering anything aswell as asking for 10%
To ask a street performer to pay for transport, food, accomodation and your festival is, well to be honest and mild, rather rude
Puhaps you dont understand thism, so im being 'mild'
Hope you understand that if you want to entertain your audiences you need to pay for it
Just as an interesting thought, by your logic also youre saying that the better the performer, or at least the more money they make in their hat, the more they shall be expected to pay - lol - now thats funny!!
Good luck with collecting your 10% - is that with or without tax!!!
