Annapolis, Md. Are you a Juggler? Magician? Puppeteer? Musician? If so, the City of Annapolis and the Downtown Annapolis Partnership want you to strut your stuff on Saturday, May 1st, from 11am to 3 pm in open auditions at City Dock for the Summer at City Dock performance series taking place from Memorial Day to Labor Day this year. The City is partnering with area businesses and artists of all kinds to bring a wide array of talent and activity into Annapolis' downtown district this summer.

"One of my priorities as Mayor is to make City Dock a true destination for visitors and locals alike," said Mayor Joshua J. Cohen. "The Summer at City Dock Fest is an exciting venue to bring people to City Dock, while showcasing local talent. The City is proud to be a partner in this event where families can enjoy performers, painters, musicians and much more while spending time in beautiful downtown Annapolis."

Building on the success of last year's Sundays at City Dock performance series, this year the Festival will expand to run every Sunday from Memorial Day to Labor Day and all weekend on the Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day holidays.

Professional street performers with quality, family oriented acts are invited to come down to the Dock and showcase their talents to be considered for one of the time slots for the Performing Arts and Live Music Fest taking place this summer. In addition to the performances, the Festival will feature face painters, balloon artists, and others to offer something special for everyone.
Presented by ARINC, the Festival is co-sponsored by the Downtown Annapolis Partnership, Federal House Restaurant, Alpaca International, Boatyard Bar and Grill, and Zips $1.99 Dry Cleaners. Media sponsors are What’s Up Media Group, and WRNR radio.

"ARINC has always been a good corporate citizen and and we are pleased to work with the Downtown Annapolis Partnership and other sponsors to bring free family entertainment to Annapolis' beautiful waterfront for residents and visitors to enjoy." said Linda Hartwig, Senior Director, Brand Management & Communications for ARINC. "We hope as many people as possible will come out to hear some wonderful music and watch some talented street performers."

The auditions will be MC'd by Mike Rosman, a nationally renowned performer and comedian well known by fans in Baltimore's Inner Harbor, where he has been performing for 25 years. Judges will include: Jenelle Murph, Special Events Coordinator for the City of Annapolis, Linda Hartwig, Director of Marketing for ARINC, Inc. Loretta Haring, Managing Editor of the Capital Gazette, Tom Fridrich, Director of Performing Arts at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts, and Bonnie Nelson Schwartz, Producer. Crystalooney’s artists will be onsite to offer their face painting, henna and glitter tatoo creations to interested audience members.

Interested performers must pre-register for the event by filling out a form. Click here for the audition sign up form.

Presenting sponsor, ARINC Incorporated, a portfolio company of the Carlyle Group, provides communications, engineering and integration solutions for commercial, defense and government customers worldwide. I ran into Suzie last night and she said that any performers who are interested should contact her, regardless of whether they can make it to the auditions.
